What do you do when you are in fleet?

I am talking about CFC-sized engagements and Strat-ops or "CTA"s or whatever you want to call them. It is most of the time a hurry up and wait thing, stretching the time invested in a fleet to 2-3 hours and actual fights lasting a few minutes at most, or if it is a POS shooting roughly an hour depending on how many moons we have to assault.

So I was wondering, what do you guys do when you are in fleet, besides spam random porn links and gibberish?

Personally I just got back into "OpenTTD". http://www.openttd.org/en/ It is a transport tycoon type of game and you can play it singleplayer or with other people and it is pretty fun. You can setup railroads and bus stops and lorry stations and airports and transport all kinds of things. A transport strategy game. What do you guys do? I have two monitors myself, this is a big advantage.

I am in Faction Warefare, there you never wait longer than 15 minutes until a fleet is assembled. So I have no idea what you are talking about Blink
This is also the reason why I find 0.0 so lame... wait 2 hours until fleet is assembled to wait 1 hour at a enemy POS until shields are down... how lame is that?

First and foremost this is FW forums so make like a tree and get the **** out.
Second, CFCS sized fleets are gayer than AIDS so if you're in one then you're doing it wrong.
Third, just gtfo.

Why is it Dan that every time you touch your fingers to the keyboard your fingers feel compelled to type complete trash and hate. You must be a very angry person in real life, I have read dozens of your posts and they are all written in an aggressive and angry tone. Life is beautiful and great, the glass is half full dude, so don't worry be happy. Oh and for the record if you hold your cursor over 'Warfare & Tactics' it says, "The home for PvP in EVE: Factional Warfare, 0.0 campaigns, low-sec skirmishes and empire wars" So it appears the OP is in the right place.

In regards to the OP, that right there is why I left 0.0 for FW. There is nothing more boring than orbiting and waiting. When I lived in 0.0 and took part of those large fleets, I would dual or triple box to kill boredom in fleet. 0.0 PvP actually created some pretty bad habits for me that don't fly in FW, such as dual boxing an indy character. In FW I can undock and within 5 min I have already had 3 fights. 1v1s are awesome too, and those don't happen often in 0.0 unless arranged, I get in 1v1 fights daily in FW.

Carebear in high sec on another account?

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

I'll be honest with you guys, these larger fleet engagements are not really fun. But this is the price of nullsec and sovereignity warfare.

When the king calls his lords, the lords call his subjects and the subjects heed to the call. Why? Because we pledged loyalty to the lord, and the lord to the king. To be protected and to continue ratting anomalies in carriers making big bucks off of technetium and other ****, we need to protect our lands. This includes going on long campaigns to defend our sovereignity and protect what makes us richer.

It is a boring, tedious price, but we pay it gladly so we can continue shoveling money with our tengus. Besides, if you have two monitors you can do other stuff anyway. You only really play EVE when you are in PVP am I right? If I want a fight I just go roam around, in lo-sec if I have to..

When in big fleets like that it is important to remember you are only there to protect or add to the assets of your already space rich leadership.

You and your ships/isk/personal fun do not matter, so you should shut up for 5 hours or however long it takes and do exactly what they say until the FC welps your whole fleet and tells you it is all your fault.

Remember that showing any initiative or independent thought at times like this is stupid because it won't help your leader get more space rich and you will be labelled a failure/moron and probably kicked from this elite part of the game forever as a result.

Also remember your leader is more popular and has more friends to call upon than you do so he must be better at eve and probably at life and living in general.

Make sure to laugh at all the homophobic jokes and disparaging remarks about the mental age of your opponents and you too could someday advance up the chain of command and be trusted enough to run their cobalt mining operation for them in perhaps a year or two so long as you keep paying your membership fees and donating your isk to your leaders latest worthy cause.

Most of all, have fun.
