Rogue Drones, extending their uses.

one of the most things that take my attention in EVE are Rogue Drones. and i always found that they could be expanded to new lvls of gameplay.

the concept:

right now Rogue Drones are basically just rats, they infest systems in missions and have their own anomalies and region. like all NPC they have their own arsenal of units with different forms of damage.
in the older versions of the game Rogue Drones dropped alloys which could be processed into minerals, this feature was removed in order to give more attention to mining.

as now Rogue Drones only drop wrecks for salvaging and bounties.

the idea:

add more uses to the Rogue Drones, for example, in a method similar to that of the T3 modules for cruisers. players could get materials from the Rogue Drones, this of course would require a revamp of the Drone Regions, making them a unique part of null sec. players then could create the blueprints and the parts for new types of drones, which would be similar to their rogue contraparts.

apart from new drones to get on the game, players could get special materials from the Drone Queens, which would allow them to create a new type of capturing technnology, which would allow them to "tame" some species of Rogue Drones.
or create the blueprint for a new type of Drone Ship, which would be like some sort of "False Queen" which could spawn drones using ore. (i know this sounds pretty crazy).

players could create drone structures too. in a manner similar to my idea of the Deployable Turrets https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=150609&find=unread

or they would be a new type of "Drone POS", which would use drones for several uses. the structure would follow the idea of the modular POS. so it would start as a little hatchery which would produce harvesting drones, a type of drone which can mine gas or minerals. the hatchery could develop modules similar to POSes, which would allow to extend the functions and the types of drones in the structure. this would slowly create a POH (Player Owned Hive). which could be like some sort of little station.

TL.DR version:

"extend the Rogue Drone idea and create some sort of mini RTS inside the game, not trying to inbalance combat, but instead add new uses for drones, while still being part of the metagame".....

"i want to have my own army of Rogue Drones" thing

I kinda like it, but it seems like it would just make drone regions OP again. You'd have to increase the amount of rouge drone anoms

that could be changed allowing to do archeology and hacking in the common drone anoms.

i dunno how much hardcore players would exploit it, as for the materials given by the Rogue Drones, they couldnt be reprocessed. the only profit would be from selling the modules and the hulls for manufacture.

well atm there are less rouge drone anomalies then there are anomalies for every other pirate faction. spicing drones up a bit would make them rather balanced then op. but i'm not sure i like the idea presented here...

well, i came up with this idea, mostly because i like the concept of using drones, and i feel the gameplay could be extended for those who like to use them. of course, trying to keep it the most balanced.

right now most drones are combat drones, this includes logistic drones and sentry drones, only a little group of them do industrial labors (mining drones).

and there's an effort to put Salvage drones too. i dont want to add more combat drone boats but maybe add new type of ships specialized in certain drone functions. or allow the idea to have your own hive which could act as a little deployable POS. but only for mundane tasks, like mining, harvesting gas. and other boring things. not intended to replace on keyboard players.

I hastily read your posts, but it's too much fantasy and not enough practical info. I'll answer to some of it though:

metagaming: i've seen nothing in your posts concerning metagaming
keyboard players: huh? I only use my F-keys and sometimes alt or ctrl. Mostly my mouse though...
deployable turrets: May or may not be a good idea, but again, need more info to properly respond to the topic
RTS: We already have some form of rts going with PI and dust coming our way, and alliance leadership basically control us like age of empires villagers and knights too, so aspire to be one if you want rts :p
