"It has come to my attention that as a former member of Ordo Novus Mul-Zatah, I have called into question my loyalty to God and His Empire."

Diedre pauses before continuing. She raises her hand level with her shoulder, palm out.

"I, Diedre Lokri, therefor wish to denounce any and all tenants of the Blooder scripture, may their followers burn in the holy light of God's fire. I furthermore denounce any and all beliefs in the meta-sciences of predestinarianism and transhumanism."

"At no time during my tenure with Ordo Novus did I knowingly or willingly act to harm God's Empire, nor did I suffer others to commit such transgressions."

"I, Diedre Lokri, reaffirm my sworn oath to God, to His Empire, and to its legally anointed Empress, Jamyl I."

Congratulations on succeeding in what I think is a test of faith. This has given me a Caldarian things to think about.

Hallelujah! Now let us join together for self-flagellation with the ceremonial wiffle bats of penance, then afterwards we'll have cupcakes and ginger ale.

It is pleasing to see a public denouncement of such teachings and practices by a former member, but it is far more pleasing to see a reaffirmation of faith and loyalty.

May God shine his light upon your path and judge you worthy for your faith.

The thing with confessing is you actually have to confess to something.

Try again, this time with feeling.

As far as I was aware, the Novus Ordo was seperated from the base Mul-Zatah in that they had already purged much of the blooder influence from their order.

You are correct, however this was not intended as a confession. It was a denunciation, a repudiation if you will. Were there something that I needed to confess before God, I most certainly would have done so.

All penitent true believers have something to confess.

So you are saying in essence you were a willing member of a heretical organization, yet committed no heresy.

Sounds legit.

But in any case good luck with your 2nd chance at redemption blah blah blah.

Do send me a mail if you get the courage to walk on the wild side a bit.

The Lokri family is a dangerous family. Keep an eye on them.

I fail to see what purpose this public statement serves.

If you are truthful and heartfelt in your declaration, then it accomplishes nothing: both your God and your compatriots know it.

Quite often a public statement of confirmation is necessary so that everybody knows where a pilot stands. Ms Lokri has confirmed her allegiance to the Empress, her Faith in God and her dedication to the Empire. This is a good thing, but it is also an admission that the waters had grown muddy due to her prior affiliations. Her statement is a clear dedication to the one and a repudiation to the other.

It's an Empire thing.

It is also a PIE thing when a pilot wishes to come in from the cold. They understand the value of this symbolic act. After all, what does killing Matari prove, other than that you're willing to kill Matari?
