Yeah.....cruise missiles for a frig heavy mission.....that's definitely a good idea.

I find the Mach quite efficient at this one. I just mwd out to 30km or so and there are no real tracking issues. I can imagine the Varg is also quite good at this one.

Even with a afterburner you are faster than those frigs (with a machariel at least), and if you blitz you have anyway just to kill eight t1 frigs and two destroyer. Most time you spend on those assault cruisers. Cruise Missiles still suck for them too ;-)

Remove insurance.

I tried the Machariel with microwarpdrive method and it worked quite well. I will time it next time I do it that way; the time after that I will try it in a the way you proposed and see which is faster.

Personally id rather take a vargur and sit in the middle and not think about moving rather than buzzing around like a moron in a mach.

Whatever you are running for the rest of the missions off of the agent who gave you BK? I mean I have run down BK with a cane because it was close and convenient. But if you are isk/ LP grinding you are looking at the best ship for 2 hours which is maybe 8 missions. having one pimp boat available that will make one mission quicker is a waste of resources. Sorry if that answer is a ......buzz.......kill.......LULZer...

90% of of the time my posts are about something I actually find interesting and want to learn more about. Do not be alarmed.

Are you only able to fit 1 ship into a station or something?

Hi Cipher Jones,

I found the Vargur to be pretty useful in the mission you mentioned. As others here already pointed out, it has a good range and a really nice ROF. Which means that all the pesky small ships won't be a problem at all, they will be quickly dealt with. And the tank on the Vargur is of course also strong.

Seems like if I didn't have a Mach + noctis the Vargur would be the ship for me. I have always like its looks.

No, you just burn out about 30-40k once.

1. Isk sinks are fun.
2. Variety is the spice of life.
3. Every boat I fly is pimpsauce.

I don't think sitting in the middle of t2 frigs and cruisers, even with the "awesome tracking bonus" is a good way to finish the mission I can't imagine that hitting a frigate from up close and personal with a BS gun is easy no matter how good the bonus.

As I already said with the mach I sit 40-50 out and all the little frigates, cruisers and BS fly in straight line at me so tracking is unimportant, I always hit.
Also the 4 sentry drones i have deployed always hit.
Oh and as for the tank - most ships do not get to shoot at you at all since they're dead before they're in range.

I imagine it's the same with the vargur minus the sentry drones and the extra damage mod, hell I'm pretty sure you can do this with a long range lazor ship even though the resists on the t2 angel ships are so high vs em/thermal.

As for tanking. I still think the very first waves (initial spawn + first wave to be specific) are the hardest hitting ships. Once you've got some speed and distance it's easy to withstand their assault - T1 battleship or T3 cruiser. It won't matter.

True an afterburner Mach can still outrun them. I've been using the MWD for all missions though since they enabled it. Why go 500 m/s when you can go 1500+? Some setups might have some tanking problems I guess with the increased sig, but I haven't found that to be the case with my setup.

I'd imagine a Sleipner would rock at this mission. or even a Loki or Vaga, I used to blitz L4's in a Vaga for LP and it was very fun and good ISK

Vargur, Machariel, Loki or Tengu.

Autocannon Maelstrom does it fairly quickly too.
