I've been around long enough to understand this. It's about not wanting to participate in the PVP aspect of eve, that's why I'm in Highsec. I can easily outfit a dozen PVP ships and go out into 0 space and have a blast, but I can't do that with my wife who has 7 years of industrial skills training.

The carebears are dead. Long live the griefers.

There are empire corporations as well. Aideron Robotics comes to mind (they make Aura for Android). Spend an hour looking and you'll find a bunch

I appreciate the geniune effort, but I just don't have the wherewithall to put in that much effort. I just want to play casually, not enter into a corporation and get involved in eve politicking.

You can't do that after a certain point, and that's really makes me rethink EVE.

Op, just have your drones out, they'll kill the dessy before it kills you. And put shield extender rigs and a damage control in it. Is it that hard?

That's a Templar, an Amarr fighter used by carriers.

DCII was in and active + a shield extender. They came for 2 miners. I was the only one they got.

Yep weak. Super weak. Epic uber weak. So weak it was the weakest, weaksauce that ever poured out of weaktown. So why are there so many folks that are only slightly less weak who exploit the weakest of eve?

Well, what ya did was the equivalent of going to a public john and leaving your pants outside while ya ran in to drop a deuce. You were surprised that when ya came back your wallet was gone and someone used the pants leg for toilet paper?

See, that there is your problem. You are literally proclaiming yourself "the weakest of eve" and claiming "exploitation".

Yeah I would hope that most humans are more evolved than needing to whipe their ass on someone else's pants. But you've changed my whole perspective on going to the loo in public. I'll make sure I never... ever... ever... turn my back on anyone while pissing at a urinal. They could, after all, **** on my back while I'm standing there.

So you're agreeing with me? The weakest of eve are exploited by people with nothing better to do that drive those people away?

No. I don't do "exploitation". It's not a word in my vocabulary. The only way to achieve this mythical ailment (exploitation) is for one to allow it to happen. Everything is your fault in the end. It's called responsibility.

Edit: and again you are missing the point on the "being driven away" excuse. Nobody can drive you away. You CHOOSE to leave or stay. Again, you are not a victim. The faster you understand this, the better off you will be.

If you run into more than 2 a**holes in a day, you should probably look in the mirror.

Harsh analogy there, dont be so mad, just tank the thing better. If I have to move my Mach several jumps I stack highs and lows with resists just in case. I don't care for ganking just to do it as I do realize it's another person out there(unless the profit was incredibleTwisted) but making high sec totally safe would make it a pretty dull affair.

Although those that prey on the weak are weak themselves, it makes them feel better. So Marked Prospectus just think of it as you doing a public service.

OP, is this you? It's the only Mackinaw I see on SC's killboard for the weekend. No tank... tsk...

A professional astro-bastard was not available so they sent me.

I didn't say standing at the urinal I said you left the damn pants outside. I sure hope ya do watch your back at public bathrooms because I don't know about you but if some dude got within two feet of me whilst taking a whizz I'd defiantly notice. Ever go for a squirt at a concert and have some drunk fool almost pass out while in the act near you?....I have it was like watching a run away leaking gas tanker go through a crowd.

So if I'm to gather the public output appropriately:

It's expected that:

1. High sec miners will be ganked
2. They shouldn't be there to begin with
3. You need insurance in the form of becoming semi-casual and paying dues to a corporation
4. It's their fault for not being tough enough to survive an attack specifically designed to kill high sec miners

So if you happen to die. and you go to a guild with the common mentality that is being expressed here, wouldn't they just deny me help since I was dumb enough to die? Even though it would have taken longer than a warp cycle to escape. Even though had I escaped, my wife would have lost the same ship... and EVEN if I had done all the things people recommend here, the combined bank of my wife and myself would still have been out 200m, I'm still in the wrong for being a carebear?

In the best case scenario a mythical corporation that would be saddled with this loss, would have to back me (or my wife) to the tune of 200m isk?

This sick mentality is why there's no understanding of what's wrong; why there's only 40k players after ten years of this game being a great platform for PVP and why eve players, in general are regarded as huge trolls. Because we are.

I'm really just pissed off because you've driven my wife off the game and now I can't play anymore. I am fully willing to die a thousand more times in the name of battle, but I can't explain to my wife how being in a NON PVP zone means you can be forced to PVP.

So screw you griefers of all games, eve included, you have driven the female element from a game I wanted to co-op play with my wife yet again. I will go back to flying cov-ops and soloing folks in 0.0 space. To the real eve players, I salute you. To the rest, keep up with the HighSec is for ganking noobs justifications. It'll continue to go well in convincing the 30% of gamers who are married to find something else to do.

A. Yes, high sec miners can and will be killed. CCP has gpone a long way to make sure that if you have half a brain, you can stop it from happening.

B. They are more than welcome to be there. Who said high sec miners shouldn't be there? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

C. Nothing about Eve is casual. There are plenty of games that are though, go try them.

D. Yes it is their fault for not being "tough enough", or (god forbid, fitting a tank or not afking). It's most definitely their fault.

E. They aren't called guilds.

If you run into more than 2 a**holes in a day, you should probably look in the mirror.
