The unique item "scam."

CCP wake up please!

You can't have a contract system that allows you to ask for something that does not exist, stacked unique items in this case.

I've done my fair share of scamming but this is'nt even a scam, it's a broken game mechanics and should be considered as a exploit when used.

Did a test with an alt, and.....

"One or more required items are missing. At least the following item is missing: Secure Coded Package. These items must be in your personal hangar at Jita IV - Moon 4 - Caldari Navy Assembly Plant

NOTE: The items must be repackaged before finalizing this transaction."

…and the scam is…?

Or rather, since you conclude that it isn't a scam, why do you call it a scam?

How is this a scam? Do the items you do have get taken anyway? So if you attempted to fulfill that contract, it would take the Hardners, and fail on the other two items, so you wouldn't get the money?

No it is simply impossible to stack these items, yet it is very possible to ask for the items stacked.. get it?

Yes, but I'm not seeing how it is a scam? Just seems like a wasted contract.

Do you lose money if you fail to deliver the items? If not, how is it a scam What?

Sounds like a variation on the margin trading scam. Sell the hardeners nearby for an inflated value, but the rube can never complete the contract.

No i didnt lose any money, as I suspected a scam but contract is still up. The point is the items DOES NOT EXIST, not stacked so the contract will allways fail.

…and the counter-point is: why do you call it a scam if you say it's not a scam? Make up your mind.

Because as I also said, I consider it an exploit and NOT a scam.

I haven't looked at this in any detail, but in general, if you can use a broken game mechanic to create an unfulfillable contract, you can find a way to scam with it.

For example, as with a courier contract that will always fail and you will always get the collateral for.

Then I trust you filed a petition about it rather than posting on the eve online forums. Because using exploits is Bad and if it was an exploit you'd want to keep it a secret so CCP can fix it without everyone using it right?

For your benefit Tippia (technicalities aside):

Say a person was selling those hardeners over priced (but still reasonable) and also made this contract.

A person could buy his hardeners and then with the other items (which cannot be stacked in the inventory) try to sell them and make money. But they only lose money tot his guy since the contract is unfillable.

In this limited case, it is a scam.

Otherwise, its just an annoyance.

I think CCP should fix this, but only because it makes it a pain to contract more than one of certain unique items.

No need. I know how the margin trading scam works. It's still a matter of people not paying attention to the market and being blinded by their own greed so they over-pay for items.

I'm merely baffled by him claiming that it isn't a scam and then calling it a scam. I get the distinct feeling that he desperately want to complain but doesn't quite know about what so he tries to plaster every “bad” label in the book on it… (never mind that calling it a scam means it's legit around here).
