I did, I went to the restroom, was focus fired by a gang, scouted by a covert ops ship prior to leaving to the restroom, and went anyways. 30 seconds.. That's all it took. It's 10 feet to my restroom and 10 feet back. Took a ****, and died. If I had docked, my wife would have died. so I'm happy it was me since she would have been focused and killed instead of me. It doesn't matter that I was in the restroom. It's the fact that folks actively search out people who want to have no part in pvp and force them to participate through suicide squads.

She already cancelled her sub, since this happens pretty much every time we re-sub. It's almost comforting to know this is what eve is, has been, and will be in the future.

Dude, you act like they knew you went to the potty. Did you announce in local that you had to tinkle? You are not cut out for this game, period. It is not for you. You need something much softer and much easier. Nobody in the forums have any sympathy for you. Play something else, ok?

I get it, it's a hard game. Especially in high sec, where you should have protection from Concord. You should always be aware, you should always be paying attention to everything. You can't ever take a ****, you have to dock always.... cause all of you do that in 0.0 I'm sure.....

No, but you need to not be stupid.

Concord does not provide protection. Only consequences.

This is a PvP server. Why would you expect people to not try to engage in PvP with you.

This is how it is unfortunately, I'm a new player too and like I said in another thread, I've learned that elements in this community can be very draconian, many truely enjoy inflicting grief on others and feed off the discord and malcontent it causes to a degree that seems almost demonic. Doing what the OP has done creating this topic only serves to make a target out of oneself.

It kinda shows that this game was made by the descendants of vikings. P

It's the "I quit" "I'm a victim" whining that annoys people.

Getting gacked in high sec while mining and selling to locals is pretty much the same thing. Just griefing for griefing's sake.

Actually it's economic. See, now you have to buy a new ship from someone who built it from the minerals you sold to them. Circle of life and all that ****.

Also, it took you five hours to drop a load? I've been accused of falling asleep on the toilet, but five hours?

If the reality of high-sec griefing was: we kill AFK miners, then they would have. But reality is, it doesn't matter afk or there, you will die to someone willing to spend the isk.

They want to kill you. Its part of the game (and it is not griefing by CCP's definition, the only one that matters here).

Would you whine about being killed on a PvP server in any other game?

But its not. Its like being PK'd in a PvP area.

Suicide squads are the biggest problem with this game, as you point out they make it so that PvE and PvP players can't co-exist as they force PvP upon the PvEers.

I doubt EVE will change in that respect as PvPers have a habit of trying to make PvEers conform to PvP.

Anyone that thinks they can play this game as other MMOs that cater for PvP and PvE are mistaken it's PvP and there will always be someone trying to ruin your day. So don't kid yourselves.

It's not about unfair. It's about self destructive behavior. People are willing to destroy that which makes people feel like they can play a game casually. I like the game, the complexity, the richness of the background, the effort that goes into the story and the enrichment I get out of being a part of a globaly economy. What I don't like is folks who are able to, allowed to continue, and encouraged by the attitude seen in this thread, to drive people away. To get rid of people who want to participate and be a part of something, why do macro miners flying retrievers continue to exist and yet a 8 year veteran character is targetted by these people?

They can't claim to be protecting the game from botters or isk miners. It's only for one reason, to grief.

I get why I'm getting so much crap for this thread, at the surface it's a bitchfest, but I'm semi-serious. I've died hundreds of times, I started eve by trying to bust blockades for 18 hours straight with shuttles so I could see what 0 space was. I enjoyed the chase, I died so many times it's not even funny. But getting the **** taken out of you for trying to spend some time mining, and contributing to the economy? It's like Eve really is a sado-masochistic society.

This is absolutely not a PVE game. If you are playing this game to PVE, you are doing it wrong. PVE is simply a way to make iSk to PVP.

Well off again I suppose, I appreciate the civilized behavior. I'm certainly less than civilized in my responses, but understand where you're coming from. There are other games, other worlds and other circumstances. Since PVP seems to be the requirement, I'll keep at it with Dust, and my wife and I will find another game to play together (WoW really isn't that bad for couples, they can avoid forced PVP there if you're looking for something yourselves!)

Not about to start over in a procurer. In a couple years I'll convert some more plex to isk and try again. Enjoy what you have. Eve is awesome as a PVP interface. I just haven't the time to find two games. Just wanted to do the PVE aspect of eve with my wife. It seems to be gone, unless you're willing to put up with avoiding the forced PVP though.

You are just trying to back the undefendable. A corp isn't going to fly in a highsec system flying cover for anyone. It's a matter of Highsec solo players being driven off. If I had the time I could invest it in getting into a corp with 0.0 presence, find myself in a system where I am defended and then not have to worry. I could not also do that and get my wife to play as well, Highsec is the inbetween. But it's really not. As long as people are willing to admit that Highsec is a farce, and that it's just a place for bored corps to grief solo folks, than I'm sure it's a fine place to be. It's just not anything like it used to be.

2*40m

me 200m,

Guess what. If I felt the loss was justified I'd spend the 200m. I don't so it's gone. 40m spent, 200m lost. Sounds good? Keep it up.

I've been around long enough to understand this. It's about not wanting to participate in the PVP aspect of eve, that's why I'm in Highsec. I can easily outfit a dozen PVP ships and go out into 0 space and have a blast, but I can't do that with my wife who has 7 years of industrial skills training.

The carebears are dead. Long live the griefers.

Joining a guild who will "defend" you at the cost of being a part of their War Decs, is even worse than being solo. You get that insurance because YOU HAVE TO PAY A 10% TAX to the war effort. By the very nature of things are contributing to PVP. I just want to get drunk, mine some ore, and watch Donovan's Brain. I don't want to have to be 100% aware of a ganksquad coming for my wife or myself.
