Eve will not load - exefile.exe kills itself

I'm stuck and can't get past the launcher, here's what happens -


1) Click 'play' at launcher window
2) Check task manager - exefile.exe appears along with 2 cmd prompt processes
3) A new window appears briefly - the eve login screen, although I never see it fully load - then closes
4) exefile.exe along with 2 cmd prompt processes both terminate themselves


I was previously having this issue some time ago (this thread ) which never really got resolved, but at least then a reboot would fix it. Now a reboot does not help, so I can't get into eve.

I've tried -

1) Uninstalling and re-downloading from scratch the eve client
2) Gfx card drivers are up to date (as of last week anyway)
3) Removing any process that isn't required for the game, the usual suspects like raptr, trued disabling AV etc

Any ideas?

Repair tool just ran - no fix so far!
