In before lots of whining from people that want the door as their default view TwistedTwisted

THANK YOU VERY MUCH CCP !!!

I realize this is already on sisi, so it's a bit late to be making requests, but:

Any chance the client could be set to remember the hangar view / CQ toggle on a per-station basis? That way, we could for example have the CQ load when we dock at our home station, while using the hangar view for stations that we visit just to quickly pick up/drop off stuff.

Also; Shameless plug of my suggestions for hangar view and CQ:

thats pretty lame what happened to the button that let me leave the ship and then go to CQ? i think its stupid i have to choose one or the other... let me have both... you had a button that works on singularity...

what gives?

EDIT!!!!! CCP is way to transparent now... cuss the button is clearLol its there

Why were the blue 'chevron/arrows' removed from the older test-version of this? They really complimented the yellow chevron/arrows of the 'undock' button, and made pretty-much perfect sense.

I'm not sure that I like the 'floating text' that's replaced it. It doesn't feel quite right...

I welcome that we now can get rid of the endless waiting when docking at stations.

Does anyone else find it amusing that CCP is now reverting to a much older feature in eve?
You really should listen to your player base a bit more.

The good old days of Unreal Tournament, fragging and sniping on Facing Worlds, listening to Foregone Destruction.......

NOOOOO!!!!!! WHY CCP WHY???

The door was the best thing EVER to happen, allowing us to sit in station for ages without getting a warm laptop.

LOL, read it again, if you leave the station environments ENABLED you will have the little blue button to switch between CQ and hangar.

If you DISABLE the station environments you will be in hangar view only.

Look good, smells like home as soon as I put my slaves to wash my hangar floor again.

All the dumped podgoo from the undocks seems to have stuck on the floor.

CCP, I think that you bringing back ship spinning is a really good idea, but if you still intend to roll out Incarna, commit to it. Don't have it "remember previous setting as default" - make everyone who docks in station automatically go to the ship-spinning hangar. Retain the buttons, but if anyone wants to go to their Captain's Quarters, they have to disembark from their ship first. Make the interface in CQ radically different from the station interface. For CQ and Incarna in general to be successful and novel, they need to feel like more than just a pretty background graphic.

Also, now that we have a ship-spinny hangar view in which we can easily see small ships, can we have ships returned to the correct positions and relatives scales in CQ (even if that makes them seem tiny)? They look weird and out-of-proportion when you suspend them in the air like that. Also, you'll definitely want to fiddle around with the placing of the CQ in the Gallente and Amarr hangars - now that we have ship spinning back, it'll be easy to tell that they're floating in empty space.

Imaging having CQ from the start of EVE. Than CCP tells you they're going to get rid of it so now you only can see your ship from the outside and view it from 360°. Accepting change is difficult. CQ is great, ship spinning is for people who live in the past.

- CQ environments will not be loaded at all if you select the hanger view, which means way less RAM use for those starved of RAM as well as less load on your graphics card. So running multiple clients should be more viable again.

It means it DOES load right now? Shocked

I.e., even if you turned off the CQ in the options, upon docking your machine STILL loaded all the 3D meshes, textures, b-splines, shaders, etc.? Just to replace them with The Door(tm) once done??? Ugh

Words can't describe the amount of fail behind this: load up resources you know you don't use. I'm baffled.

Luckily, soon it will be a bad memory of the past.

Thank you for fixing this aspect. Not breaking it in first place would have been better. But this is a good second choice. Cool

Haven't seen it asked yet, so I'll be the one to ask.

The functionality you brought back for the station environment, like double clicking your ship to open its hangar, or drag 'n drop ships to make them active, is it also available in the CQ? Because that's all I really missed personally. I find it more relaxing to walk around the CQ in circles than to ship spin (my crew hates it when I run the camera drone feed to their quarters when spinning!) I just missed the functionality the most!

Mmm, I love the smell of pod goo in the morning.
