Hello All !

Dont you think after update and all thous ore cargo bays all industrial ships lost balancing?
For instance the mighty hulk is not anymore "mighty" with 3 hight slots equip you can only go for 8,5k ore and Mackinaw has only 2 highslots and go for 35k ore as well lost a 200% bost for ice mining :(
If you look at the prices of writen above ships dramaticly change so ppl with few hulks lost lots of mln... and guys with Mack earn them ? I dont think its kind of cool thing ?

They are yet to re-balance the industrials and that will be kind of cool to see with 5 iteron versions.

As to the hulk it is still the best yield there is, I have still seen fleets of hulks vacuuming up roids in hi-sec with orca support.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

Try imagine if you are not in fleet and you run hulk with 8,5k :) 3xhislot make your cargo full in few minutes then fly back to station and over and over again :P bit useless solo Might one

The most important ship balancing issue of our time is to give the Blackbird more capacitor. CCP, even with perfect cap skills, the BB has a hard time making a 70+ AU warp. No other ship has cap issues as bad as the BB.

Save the Brobird.

If you're not in a fleet, you might want to take a look at the Exhumer specifically designed to meet your needs rather than the one specifically designed not to.

Right So its not really important then ppl lost 100mln+ for market value buy purchase Hulk before the update ?
Ok lets make analogy :

Mining solo:

1. buy hulk before update around 300mln+
2. after update decide then Mackniw has better ore cargo, so sell a Hulk becouse running it with 8,5k ore cargo its a nightmare. Actual price around 200mln+ ( before update around 300mln )
3. buy Mack for around 250+ (before update around 150)

4. Quick count and you are around 200mln -

Hmmm sounds cool Lets Do It :P

How sad to read this post. A miner did really bad in the market.

Who would have thought of that.

Perhaps if you want to do well in the market stop mining and do marketing.

Losing money because you bought a ship and balance changes made it different than what you wanted is not a valid argument.

Use this as a wake up call to pay attention to patch notes. And any ship you get today, including the one that you spent all of your SP training specifically for, could change into something useless the next day. Deal with it, we all have up to this point.

Yes, for solo miners the Hulk (As well as the Covetor) is terrible. But you don't take an Abaddon and say it is terrible because its ECM sucks compared to a Scorpion. The Abaddon has its own strengths and its own niche. Don't complain that it isn't the niche you wanted it to fill.

The Mackinaw is now the king solo miner. If you want a solo miner, go for that. If you want a miner that functions well in groups, get the Hulk. It's much better for that.

Seriously, if I hear that the hulk is useless one more time I'm going to stab something.

Sounds like you should have been paying attention to the DevBlogs, EvE Newsletter, and Patch Notes.

ITT Miner too lazy to read the news gets bit by market forces.

It would be nice to see some new Industrial ships. As it stands now there is nothing to fill the gap between Industrials, which cap out around twenty thousand units of cargo space (please spare us the bragging about your uber tweeked Indy that actuallygoes over that, it's not the point) and the Freighters which can haul around a million.

How about the Small Freighter that holds around 250,000 or so? Or the Super Freighter that hold several million? And maybe some actual fittings slots for those freighters so that they're not all exactly alike (and utterly untankable)?

So now you could sell your Hulk for 200 and buy a Mack for 250? You're only out around 50 mil if you change ships. All of your skills still carry over. And you could sell your 3rd strip since now you only need 2.

As something of an expert on highsec mining, I can tell you the result was to get everyone into mackinaws (or retrievers, if they're botting new characters that haven't skilled macks yet). For the sake of giving every mining ship a useful role, they should eliminate the mackinaw's tank, and either its yield or its ore bay. Smile

Removing the yield role bonus on the mack, and knocking the skiff down to 2 effective harvesters would go a long way in balancing things better. It will be a rare day that I ever use a hulk again, even in a fleet. The non-existant tank and tiny ore bay aren't worth the 9% extra yield. I'd rather have the buffer on the skiff in case my protection falls asleep during a rat spawn, or a blops gang jumps in. Or the mack's ore bay so I don't have to micromanage every cycle. Either option has benefits, because the mack still has a great tank, and the skiff still has a useful ore bay.

Balancing the barges was a great idea, but all they did is turn the hulk from the only ship to use, to the only ship not to use.

I always buy a new ship with the assumption I'm going to use it solo.
