To summarize I am leaving because:

ITT: Mediocre players goes out of his way to explain that he had renewed interest after a PvP expansion while striving to not engage in PvP Activity but leaves the game for a swathe of reasons not at all pertaining to PvP coming to him.

I too have a smoking hot wife that drives a Ferrari, my own LLC, and a real life financial stability that gets me politically connected- Like every other EVE player.

EVE isn't what people call 'fun' it is engrossing, boring, thrilling, deep, tedious, stupid, terrible, badly made, well realised, open ended, greifer filled, friendly grind of epic/ petty dimensions with some of the best / worst people you have ever met playing / running it.

EVE isn't a 'fun game' EVE is a world were you have a second life with a terrible GUI and a room you cannot get out of were you are forced to click stuff as a job and convince others to join you in this madness.. and you are getting out, well done!

Congratulations you have now won EVE.

Oh yes, I can just imagine the delicious flowing tears of the devs when they get this in their next internal memo. I don't know man, do you really want to hurt CCP so dearly with your departure at this moment in time? I mean the game was just starting to slightly be fun again, and now ...this *jerks a tear*

CCP does conduct "exit surveys" when people have let their subscription lapse for some time or cancel their subscription. Most service providers will do the same thing. It would not surprise me at all to find that the barge buff was directly due to the number of subscription cancellations attributed to being suicide ganked.

Kudos, 'bout time someone realized that.

Also, and seriously: canIhaveyourstuff?

Lol

But yeah, I hardly play myself with work and all and don't really need it or want to ship around the galaxy picking it up.

Actually, I came to a really simple resolve about this: Don't. Just leave it or contract heap it to someone else willing to waste their time. Maybe you lose a bit or even make some, but it beats hauling it all over the place and thirty stops in between. Anything really decent, leave where it is.

I have an Orca BPO in research, and Oracle BPO in research, a Cov Ops and a Condor, some fittings, a heap of Megacyte in 2-3 different places, and that's about it these days. Wallets pretty empty too as I spent a billion or so buying PLEX the last couple months.

About three days ago I was flying in a shuttle and I got podded by a random jerk in highsec. I was flying to my hauler to pick up and move some of my stuff looking for a reason to keep subscribing to the game. I had just replaced all my implants. 1.2 billion gone again after the same thing happening days earlier. All because I wanted to auto pilot and watch a movie with my wife at her request. Boobs come before internet spaceships.

I looked over and saw what happened during the movie. I then got up, walked over to the PC and logged out of Eve. I then un-installed it. I have lost almost half of the wealth that I painstakingly built up over 5 years within a matter of 3-4 months time via scams and ship losses/podding. Since I stopped playing regularly last week I have already begun making real headway on my goals and I find I am enjoying my life a great deal more. I have gotten to go for walks and read a couple of books I have been trying to finish and have felt a great deal more rewarded for the experiences than I have playing Eve online any time over the last six months.

My subscription runs out some time on the 7th, I may make one final post then do not expect to hear from me again. I do not intend to return.

Once you get your sh*t in order IRL and learn some self-control you'll remember the good parts of eve and come back.

Till then ya you need to gtfo from in front of the PC.

Good luck IRL

Anyone else thinking we really need a "I'm leaving and you can't stop me!" sub-forum?

This stuff just clutters GD up so much.

So because you were dumb enough to auto pilot, get scammed and podded you're quitting and blaming the game for all of YOUR mistakes.

Now I know you must be trolling. This whole thread could be renamed "I got killed while AFKing and I hate it, but not enough to sit at my computer".

Maybe you should thank the one that scammed you for those many billions for giving you the realization kick up the arse that this is just a game, pure and simple.

But also to answer your OP, do both, i do.

I own and run my own company with 13 employee's, been married for 12 years and have 2 daughters aged 10 and 8 and i STILL find time to log in to eve.

Thats probably because i dont have this single char, this one is for chilling in highsec exploring, i have a market alt, a dread/carrier alt and an Avatar pilot too, lastl i have a guy in TEST.
My moods change, as they do with anybody who plays EVE, sometimes i dont want the pvp in delve, sometimes station trading bores me, now and again i enjoy blapping sleepers in our C5 in my rev, and other times i enjoy chilling in high sec with completely different friends exploring.

What im trying to say is diversify. You said you've always had just the one char, i started with just the one buy quickly realized one isnt enough to sample all the different paths available in this terrible game, so figured the best path was to be different people, as in persona's.

It's good your keeping all your stuff as you never know what you'll feel like in 6/12 months or so, but if or when you do return i suggest creating another char and try something completely different.

*Edit

Can i haz your stuffz?

*Double edit

Ignore, i already got it Twisted

Good luck fella and hope to see you return some day.

Remember, its a game and games are meant to be fun!

Lol why post a load of valid reasons then just rip on the player base?

Sounds like you're only tryin to convince yourself you made the right decision.

Well, go on then. **** off. :p
