Leaving Eve after almost five years.

Eve might have a nice passive skill system, but I have never seen such slow character stat development in any other game. 20-30 days for 5%? Seriously.

I read that first paragraph and you cover it there rather cleanly.

When you see your R&R time as a "time-sink" - yes, it's time to move on to something else. The rest is the usual excuses people use when leaving something they enjoyed for a long time.

Though it always sad to see someone leave, at least they are leaving for the right reasons.

Another one bites the dust. Aaand another down, another down, another one bites the dust!

The funny thing is, seems like you are part of the minority of carebears (judging by the fact you own an orca) who actually has a life and realized RL > highsec mining. Sadly, you are part of the minority and I can respect that, nonetheless. If the rest were more like you this game would be evolving the opposite way from HKO-themepark.

I will definitively be joining your boat when my incentives to play are replaced.

Can't people just quit quietly? We don't need your story. Nobody's fault except your own if you can't handle your own gaming?

Threads like this exist because people are ******* terrible at time management.

If you can't manage your life and the things you want to do while still playing a video game you enjoy I can assure you it isn't the game's fault.

The original real reason I made this post was to be able to answer my corp members and CCP when they asked why I was leaving. It is easier to answer those questions here and then just send them a link to the topic.

Umm... couldn't you have done that in a word document and done the copy pasta instead of whining on the forums about how EVE somehow stopped you from being rich and famous?

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

Enjoy Eve responsibly, bout 5-10 mins per day, maybe an hour or two once per week,

playing hours per day, has ruined peoples lives, whether its Eve or Wow or whatever.

Eve has a great skill system, cos you can skill up and be afk for weeks, no Grinding Yay!

Oh, and thank God for endless hours semi afk ice mining Big smile

Good luck with your future endeavours.

And it is only a second job if you make it one. Aside from that and im sure it has been asked alot. Can I have your isk and items please?

I do not treat this game as a second job and I am having a ball... although extra isk will always be great.

Good luck with the future...

I have to agree with the Cannibal it only becomes a second job if you let it...

At the end of the day its a game, enjoy it as one and ride the pod express...
If you wanna take it ultra serious, post it in the forums... wait...

Oh yes, I can just imagine the delicious flowing tears of the devs when they get this in their next internal memo. I don't know man, do you really want to hurt CCP so dearly with your departure at this moment in time? I mean the game was just starting to slightly be fun again, and now ...this *jerks a tear*

CCP Soundwave: why why WHYYYYYY did he cancel his account *tears streaming*. Someone! Get him on the phone NOW!! I must know why he left. For the sake of the children!

Well, good thing you left this message for them then. I'd have a tough time sleeping at night if I knew CCP's heart was so broken with no explanation of your departure. *grabs tissue and stars sobbing with everyone else* Fair well ...fair well *falls to ground and beats fist against ground* WHHHYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!

For the record Akita T is a horrible horrible person. Mainly because he blew the whistle on the PI refining when it was first released. Yes I do hold grudges :Twisted

Sounds like you picked a route that leads to boredom. After 5 years most people rationalize their time spent on a game about spaceships. In the end people need a hobby or some form of entertainment, Eve can and is a form that people look to. Everything you do hobby wise could be considered a waste of time, if you enjoy it however is it really a waste? Either way taking a break is always good and like many others who quit you'll probably decide to come back. Hopefully when that time comes you'll pick a less boring and tedious role.
