got a trial account so i can level from 1-15 for free.

My Review so far:

1 Graphics Are Complete ****.

2. Ive read that if you PVP outside the arena in a PVP server you get banned. whoever implemented this is a total moron

3. The sounds are acurate

4. The planets could use alot of work. i mean WHERE IS THE FREE ROAM?! SWG had alot more freedom but thats just my opinion

5. Vendor system is a bit confusing. I can for the life of me find a store that sells robes and masks.

6. The Movies are incredible! espically the intro that was incredible.

7. Customization could use some work. custom lightsaber hilts custom robe colors etc etc.

8 Needs player housing like Star Wars Galaxies.

well thats all i can think of at any rate. Worth a Susprtion? not really. im waiting for it to go F2p

Your views are largely in line with what others have experienced. Your plan seems also sensible. The main attraction is the story/cinematic content anyway and if they stay with their current F2P plan, you'll get all of it for free. You'll have to make alt accounts or keep deleting your only character to access all the stories though. Also expect to deal with some inconveniences and total lack of customization, since those are planned to be major money makers in the F2P plan.

In my opinion, it needs so much work, it'll probably take years to accomplish to make it worthwhile

Raid difficulty is whacked (8 man hardmode eternity vault is leagues easier than 16 man "story" mode eternity vault)

The credit sinks involved with using customised gear setups at a high level are counter productive. For example, to take modifications out of gear obtained through a raid, and put them in other gear that has space for the same modifications, but looks different costs a fuckton of money.

Several of the planets' storylines are ****** UP. I really don't enjoy them and so I can't be arsed to level another alt, despite wanting to see their stories and content.

"Crafting" if you can call it that is ****** up as well, it takes an hour to gather some raw materials at a high level, and most of the time you get useless **** instead. You're better off finding a decent income (warzone PVP, raids with a decent group) and simply using gear you obtain from vendors.

Bioware was so eager to please some people that there is literally no use whatsofuckingever to ever interact with crafters. I can quite seriously buy gear from vendors that is better than anything crafters will ever make.

I have alts already created and leveled up slightly so that when I stop paying bioware/ea, I can pretty much just continue as is without much fear of anything. But yes, bioware's f2p thing doesn't make much sense since the only DECENT content IS the story, and they're giving it away (lol wtf bioware? thanks!)

At your level, you should probably do a lot of questing. Thats where most of your gear will come from. That, and instancing. You start getting commendations as you level from quests and such that can be turned in at a vendor for gear at each planet.

That, or buy orange rated gear from the GTN and use modifications to make it decent.

I guess if you want get a picture of a MMO, go and browse the forums a bit. I have done so on and off since SWTOR launched and I know now that I am never going to play that one.

I also know that the forum moderators here are actually saints compared to the Bioware ones... you can pull off (and get away with) stuff here that would get you banned forever there. Cool


Edit: Oh, and don´t try the equivalent of the trading window scam over there, apparently, players who do that are "truly despicable, and lack moral values, and respect for the game and other people playing it. Of course you should report this. If nothing else he basically stole your implants from you, under the pretence of giving you in game credits for them. Not acceptable player behaviour by any means !"

Its cute and funny. But I have yet to find an equal to GSF's 126 page threadnaught of rage when they were SD'ing ships in STO and inviting klingons on their bridge to kill them over and over. People were calling for them to be banned from every game ever for the rest of their lives and some rather harsh things were said about their moral character.

I don't think it's bannable. But there was time when people complaind on SWTOR forums that ganking and world pvp (even on pvp servers) is an exploit and should be banned xD

TOR = WOW + Lasers

Turning SWG into WOW + Lasers is what killed SWG

TOR is already dead. They just don't know it yet.
