amarr agents, too many faction missions?

so i have decided to get standings up with amarr navy for setting up a jumpclone or 2. Starting from 0.0 i knew it wouldnt be a quick hop. I wasnt expecting it to be the nightmare that it has been.

Early on before i knew enough about standings i had pushed my gallente standings down to a considerable negative and have been trying to save them since. Now along comes my plan to get jump clones in amarr (location of my main bases of ops and ).

Well... i finally managed to unlock lvl 2 agents last night, out of 5 missions only 1 was not a kill faction mission. Then today i had 5 agents give me 10 faction missions (and effectively become locked out for 4 hours). I have missioned up to lvl 3 with federation navy and ministry of internal order (amarr) and lvl 2 with sisters of eve and a few other random oddities, but i dont ever recall such an onslaught of faction missions.

So has something changed? has amarr navy always been so insanely anti faction more so than the other empires, is there something wrong with the random mission selection process or am i the most unlucky missioner in amarr space?

With Social & Connections III I only needed to do 1 L1 mission to gain enough standing to unlock L2's

For the Amarr Navy, Youl is probably the best spot.
4x L2 agents in 1 station means you can quickly chew through the early stages, if time isnt an issue you might not even need to move stations.
I'm not recommending you grind out upto 8.0 on these 4 agents, but you could take all 4 offers at once and blast through to L4 standings quite quickly, skipping L3 agents alltogehter.

And yes, the Amarr do seem to be a lot more zealous in thier "kill these 'factionname'" offerings than other Factions.

Edit

Forgot the "Amarr Navy" Storyline agent sat in the station too ..
so 5 agents of interest alltogether offering security/storyline missions

It's just a gut feeling, but I think the less they like you, the more likely they are to give you "problematic" (anti-faction, etc) missions.

Oh, an alternative way of getting your standings up would be distribution missions. Not only can they be easily parallelized (by finding a station, or at least a system, that has several distribution agents of the level you require), they can also be completed more quickly and hence yield more storyline missions over time. Storyline missions don't just boost faction standing, but also significantly boost corp standings (lv3 "Kidnappers Strike" gives 33.3% corp standing, no kidding). If you pick the distribution agent you run the 16th missions for right, you can chose which corp will give you the subsequent storyline mission.

Its been suggested previously,. "The more they like you the more of these missions you get." I tend to believe this to be some what true I seem to remember getting these missions when my npc corp standing hit 5 or 6. I don't mind taking the hit to my Gallente or Minmatar standings. You don't have further left to go to secure your jump clone rights, so you might as well finish it off. However, if you're just not wanting to do anymore damage to your faction standings with the other races you can always hire a corp booster to sit in your corp for 7 days. You would then have jc rights with Amarr Navy and probably a few others.

I wish amarr handed out far more antifaction missions

I never got enough of them when I was doing missions

got to the point I got me 2 accounts all with chars to farm enemies abound.

I petitions my missions every week as not spawning and 4 months later I finally stopped after the exploitation of the not spawning petitions.

6 missions a day is all I ever did and the income was through the roof.

If maximizing faction gain while minimizing rival faction loss is you goal, and you can handle the gut wrenching boredom of it all, then distribution missions are probably the best way to go.

There are also Rorq Pilots who offer Jumpclone services. You meet them on the undock of a LS station, install a clone, dock, and jump to it. No Corp Hopping needed.

The Rorq pilot is safe because they can dock at any time. You're safe because you can dock at any time (LS is pretty safe for a pod).

Distribution missions are your best bet. If you want them to be a little more rewarding and a little less boring, run them in LS.

They also have the added bonus of letting players run level 4s FAR earlier than they could level 4 security. *Race* industrials III or IV is all you really need for a level 4 distribution mission (And 5.0 standings of course) but that is much faster to train into than Battleships or Battlecruisers and all the associated skills.

If all you are after are jump clones, do what others in the thread have suggested to take a shortcut. If you want high standings for other reasons (perfect refining, lower broker taxes etc) distribution missions might be right for you.

In the cat-and-mouse game that is low sec, there is no shame in learning to be a better mouse.
