Is EVE in maintenance mode? Lack of tangible progress is somewhat frustrating.

After reading about it, I would interested in the "small holdings" bit, or a few tweaks to allow a more nomadic gameplay. If I could make a small unprobable base to keep my stash until I'm ready to trade or have some extra modules to switch out or repair that would be awesome. Might just be enough to get me out of high sec.

That would be frikking awesome if I could be truly nomadic. Right now though its entirely unprofitable to do, which is kind of sad.

I assume you pay with plex? You could easily be nomadic if you were subbing.

No, its a lot of stuff that actually prevents me from doing it. I suppose if I wanted to I could but right now I've got 10~ production jobs I do monthly in addition to being sort of tied to two corners of empire space of which are 30~ jumps apart from one another, so I fly between them a ton.

So, I guess I *am* nomadic, just not the way I want to be.

thats more questionable i think LolLolLol

Why sure it is fun to be a part of a full fleet of 256 dudes, holding our dicks on the titan cus once in a while we get to blow our loads http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=14448183
I mean if you get off by the thought of a bunch of dudes emoting each other pretend-drinking in a bar on a computer screen then vOv.

Another one obsessed with emoting and possible a barbie trauma too i guess.

You guys keep bringing that sh*t up every time again and again and don,t want to talk about the extra WIS could add to EvE .if done in a good way.
Sure ,a lot want to have the social areas, but thats could only be a side affect to WIS ,If WIS is done right
I want some social stuff in it,but only corp and /or consolecrap (planetbarbies IdeaBlink) related i don,t care about bars or poker or dancing .

It's just too risky with all the dressup-emote loving barbie freaks around. They are the ones holding back wis.

You really got an barbie issue ,go to the doctor and get some medication for it.
Or simply unplug the " repeat sentence again and again" hardwiring skillbooster and try to come up with a good reason ,why WIS is a negative thing to EvE,without the words Barbie and Emote

How about the words 'eighteen months'.

4 years, 3 months, 18 days or near enough. That's how old I am and I was created specifically for Ambulation (as WIS was known at the time), pretty much right after it was announced.

I'll see your eighteen months and raise you a "proper allocation of resources".

The problem was never developing WIS. It was developing it by devoting an inordinate amount of resources to it.

Progress, what is it? Well it's mostly numbers, and don't think it's new pants and enabling dudes to emote each other. So uh, stop whining about the 'vision'.

The handful of people who subbed to Eve in anticipation of a future time when they could try on new clothes and walk around in a gameplay-vacuum social environment and have their avatar chat to other avatars are a strange bunch.

Second Life is free-to-play and has had all those "features" actually enabled for years, why are they not there?

Considering that WiS is essentially an entirely new game (or it will be when CCP get around to including some gameplay) shoe-horned into the Eve client, how exactly was it ever going to be set up without dedicating an vast amount of resources to it?

The problem with Wis was never the concept. Had they released it with the features they promised it would have gone down in Eve's history as one of the best new features in the game, hell even The Mittani liked it and he doesn't like anything.

The problem was that after spending unreasonable amounts of time building it and ignoring the rest of the game it was released without any of the promised features. It was effectively a character creator.

Development in games past their 5 year mark is insanely slow, much much slower typically than Eve is right now, so in a way we are very lucky with what we get.

I say it in my sig but its worth repeating. If you don't love Eve as it is , you might as well quit.

The reality of Eve is that, if you don't love it like it is today, you should probobly go ahead and unsub.

Yup, we pay, they play; we pay, they get the new development.

Oh wait, sorry, we did get rehued ships.

Oh and we got a new ship class, except all the new ships are rehued versions of the old ships.

OMG You are sooo pixel macho...

i am not talking about some timeline here .
What will be the negative affect to EvE

besides 70 % resources goes to Dust right now

25 % to rebalincing stuff

5% to other stuff like incarna

Of course i am guessing so it will not be accurate

I love EvE as it is now ,but the addition of WIS would make it even greater

and those few haters can repeat the same words over and over again , WIS can add to EvE a lot .

We're forced to repeat the same words over and over again because you never answer the simple question:

Like what? Be specific*.

*By the way, the cool dungeon adventure shoot-em-up that Team Avatar's prototyped at player meets isn't the contentious part of Incarna. We're all on board with that one. It's the social interaction rooms that I can't see adding anything to EVE.
