Where I come from in Venezuela its pretty common to celebrate the NEW YEAR by stuffing a man sized doll with powder, old newspapers and then clothe it to represent an old man and blow it up in flames and carnage precisely at midnight, so your pic brings back very good memories.

Some people place it on a regular chair, wheelchairs or even hang it by a tree as if it had been recently ganged, like Judas.
