EVE New Citizens Q&A

I've been playing again for a few months now and everything was more or less fine. But my overview has consistently been acting up and I finally reached my breaking point of annoyance last night when I was in a mission in my battleship and almost died because some ships warped in to the mission and my overview settings had changed so they didn't show up.

I think the problems started when I got a second account and when I switch between the accounts the settings go all haywire. While trying to completely start from scratch and redo them I realized that I don't really know WTF I am doing.

I'm confused between saving overview settings, vs. tab settings and exactly WTF brackets settings are. When I think I am just changing a tab I notice the entire overview name has changed as well and then after I finally got things set up how I wanted them I relogged and everything reverted. Help!

Can someone either explain here how the heck this thing works or direct me to a current guide. I Googled overviews but the guides I found seemed old so I didn't want to risk that something had changed since then and further confuse myself.

I would basically like to make a missions overview setting with different tabs for all NPC and player ships, one that just shows wrecks and containers, and one that includes structures as well as ships (normally prefer to not see the structures but for some missions it is needed. Also an overview for just gates for when I am traveling, and one for mining. Is there some way I can save the settings when I log from account to account or different characters so I don't have to start fresh each time.

Also when you do get it all figured out exactly how you like it, make sure to export the settings and share between all your accounts, rather than setting it up multiple times, which is a pain in the ass.
