Could we make attribute point remaps a buyable item?

I believe it would be really good and helpful to those of us that have to train extrememly long skills in the game to be able to play effectively.

I think that it would be awesome to be able to buy attribute point remaps like you do plex for approximately the same cost.

It would be helpful in the instance of my current training plan requires 305 days to complete fully but if i was able to remap more frequently by purchasing them i could save myself something like 48 days which would mean i could get to play more.

Just an idea im hoping that ccp might see this and consider it and im hoping that i can get support for this idea from players.

Thanks

Fulls agree, i think you should be able to buy remaps in the same way as charicter transfers etc, by redemeing plex to your account.

I'm about halfway through 740+ day long plan ... with most (all) of the skills using the same attributes (so "perfect" remap, and +5s). Sure, I hate waiting for the 30+ day trains ... but it's all part of the game; and the only time I'm "waiting to play" is when I absolutely need that L4/5 skill to unlock something else (e.g. Large (Whatever) Turret 5 to get Large (Whatever) Specialisation).

in other words -- no, training is working as intended.

edit: counter proposal --> sub 60m toons are banned from making suggestions as how to make training/remaps/SP/etc "better".

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

So you're saying that only people who have played for more than 3 years have any say in the game they're playing?

I've got 57m SP and i think buying a remap for a billion or so would be a great idea, 1. it would be an isk sink, 2. it lets the training queues be more flexible. And new players wouldnt go around minmaxing their training times.

No, just no. Plan your training instead.

OP's alliance name sums it up nicely.

Buy shorter training time? Next thing will be just buying ready-trained skills outright.

Daft.

or maybe new players are the problem (i.e. they "have" to min/max).

When I started, there was no queue, no remaps, nothing. You were stuck with the choices you made...

The queue and remaps are great as they are right now. If you allowed for something like this to happen.

Assuming Plex for remap:
1. Yeah, it's an ISK sink ... but I can make 2bn a month ... a single PLEX is nothing. That guy over there Arrow makes enough money that an extra $35 for a GTC (2x PLEX) is nothing, and actually stands to make 500m ISK.

The only people that this helps is the rich (ingame, or IRL) veterans. Newbies are at a serious disadvantage here, as 500m for a PLEX is a lot of ISK, and an extra $20 or $35 just to buy a remap is "steep" (i.e. they haven't been with the game long enough to warrant that kind of extra expense).

2. Training is flexible enough as it is. Sure, you can't min/max everything on a whim ... but that's not really a "bad thing" anyway. EvE thrives on people coming together with different skillsets (both ingame, and IRL).

I bet you £2.36 that if this is ever implemented it will be as an AUR item.

1.) This has been brought up many times before..... Please do a forum search before posting....

2.) I've been playing for several years, and I have accrued several "bonus" remaps from christmas gifts, birthday presents, and the like... We don't need a "buy a remap" feature. Either you plan smartly, or you suffer the consequences.... You shouldn't be remapping every couple of months because you want to train ABC skills when your mapped XYZ... you either accept you're mapped wrong and spend a little more time training your desired skill, or you postpone training that skill.... This helps balance FOTMs, it helps balance gameplay, it rewards specialization, etc....

3.) Remaps for Aurum would break CCP's promise of "no gold ammo" and cause a shitstorm on par with Incarna... The ability to remap for money gives a big advantage to those with money over those without money.... NO!!!!

Go read the other threads... this has been brought up many times before, and has very strong opposition...

Heh, my plan goes something like this. Ok whats 2 days or less. I don't even look at anything 10 days or more. 740 day plan, seriously I don't know what I'll be doing 2-3 months from now, who is going to be in my life or what I may be doing in general. This game requires a bit to much commitment for me I think in the long run. Still enjoying it, but I'll likely be hitting a wall soonish.

No. We don't need 600 mil PLEX because people can't be patient and endure a bad attribute map that they stuck themselves with.

In response to early insults i am not a newbie pilot o have been playing for coming on 3 yrs this is just 1 of a handful of accounts i have owned n to clarify the matter this toon is nothing more than a hardcore indy pilot and if anybody bothered to look at the capital class ships for this career it is rediculous training times just to do things at a basic competency it was purely a suggestion to make things a lil faster and to add yet a new commodity to the game and make it easier for those people like me that hold mulitple accounts to make different careers a much more realistic option.

Being able to buy plex outside of the game to trade for currency gives those that have money a steep advantage over those that dont so maybe a new arguement?

Sounds neat. I approve.

Many of the old timers will say "back in the day, ya ya". But its not back in the day. We have a queue, and remaps. Those didn't exist. You were stuck with what you rolled before you even knew how the game worked.

The game is better now.

For the no golden ammo crowd. We have golden ammo already. Money does buy isk which buys characters and character power. And this proposed feature doesn't even give you power.

There's no slippery slope. Someone wants to pay more to be able to change their skill training plan more often than once or twice a year? Go right ahead. That's more money for game development.

I like big guns. I can not lie. You other suckas can't deny. When I warp in, with an itty bity sig, with an arty in your face, you get sprung. You want to pull out your debuffs, 'cause you want to loot my stuff...deep, in a worm with nary, an escape but you can't stop staring. 'Cause, Oh crap!, Baby's got Point!

Yeah, it's not 2007 and we don't have alarm-clock training anymore, and things are "better" overall with the fixes they've done to training.

BE THANKFUL that the training is real-time. The whole point is so that you don't have to grind to "level" ... it's just something that happens over time.

That said, PLEX to ISK isn't "golden $WHATEVER" ... the ISK came from someone else who earned it. PLEX do not make ISK out of thin air (like rat bounties) or items out of thin air (i.e. "Golden Ammo").

Character transfers are equally not breaking the game. A newbie selling 10bn ISK worth of PLEX, then buying a 50m SP combat pilot will still DIAF to a (for example) 20m combat pilot who has actually earned those SP. Hell, he could probably even DIAF to a 5 or 10m SP alt of a veteran.

There's a lot more to the game than SP ... but people don't always understand this.

TBH, the "guides" out there that are saying "min/max your character like this to get the fastest training time" are actually doing a great disservice to the rookies.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Having isk in game means you can fit and fly a blingier ship... but that is not a steep advantage, asfairly easy to earn in game (especially when you become more veteran).... Buying plex and selling it to other players for their isk gives the seller a time-savings means for getting isk while also giving the buyer an alternative method for paying for their account.... Additionally, CCP sees an increase in revenue by selling plex, not to mention the third parties that also benefit from it. All sides win here, and the free market balances the time & effort for accruing isk with the value of a plex.

While this proposal is better than say, "directly buying skillpoints for isk", and it can be tied into the plex system to benefit all players, I'm not sure it's sending the right message.... Accruing skills is something that takes time and some planning to do it efficiently, but no one NEEDS to accrue it at the fastest possible rate.... sure, training a skill that you are completely poorly mapped for will cost you some time, but it's rarely some obnoxious difference.
