Binary star systems are quite common in our galaxy. Now the first one with orbiting planets was found .
Even higher numbers (6) are possible, but not that common.

In regard to new scientific data, Eve could need an update.

That would give a little variety to landscapes, I like the idea :)

All systems with stargates are binary star systems, lore-wise.
Of course the graphics don't reflect this.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

Wasn't our own star system recently discovered to have a companion star as well? It is a really dim red dwarf that has a really long orbit or something. *shrugs* I remember reading/seeing some science program about that.

That was a possible theory as to some of the strange gravitational effects on our solar system but wasn't proven.

There is however a dwarf planet called Sedna that orbits us at a really long orbit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/90377_Sedna

Back on Topic. More stars is one extra they can run to Twisted

There are plenty of binary systems in WHs too. You used to be able to add the secondary Sun in a special-effects system (the cataclysmic variable, red giant etc) to your overview and warp to it.

It was pretty cool just chilling out at zero km from a Black Hole. Cool

^^ I miss this.... the "second" sun was typically very far away from everything else in system, and made great places to hide and/or deploy probes!!!!!
