That is quite contradicting...

I wonder what you did in 3 years so you didn't find anything appealing yet. There's days where I can just hang at the FF and chat for hours, but I wouldn't stick with a game for half a year if I didn't find something fun to do.

This is the eve trap ;) You can keep your subscription active just to learn skills without finding something really interesting to do, so you're bored but you do not want to cancel your subscription because you want to continue developing your character ;)

I came back to eve with incarna because I liked the way avatars are made now. Can't wait for walk in stations too ^^

Eve can be boring at times, but you do not have to play eve 5 hours a day, you can take a break and do other things and come back later ;) I spent a lot of time with another char to do missions just to increase my standing with some npc corps I need for R&D agents. This was a bit boring, doing distrib missions over and over, but while I did those missions I chatted in the npc corpo channel or I was watching videos on the net or reading some things on the net or whatever.

Now I think I want to try exploration/salvaging and the like...

I'll create a new account with a new character for that, for personal reasons (I do not like my previous character's name and we cannot change name unfortunately ^^ and for other reasons I cannot discuss here), I think I'll take the same route: training science for R&D agents to have a continuous income even when I do not play, missioning while I train science to have access to L4 R&D agents from the corpo I want, then train exploration skills to try this part of the game. And perhaps train skills to boars a mining barge as well, so I can mine the gravitometic sites I can find.

Training some fighting skills as well perhaps to either use a destroyer or a battlecruiser if I need to fight in my missions (some distrib missions require fights, storyline as well), or perhaps a battleship.

To me to avoid boredom we need versatility. So I prefer doing a lot of different things, even if it means being less skilled in a given thing.

You will watch this and you will understand it. If you are then not interested in this type of activity you will pursue other venues in the game.

Without giving away ALL of the secrets (you can find some of them yourself), what they describe as "significant overlap" in that video is actually not nearly enough. Make that overlap area a lot larger. And don't forget about ALT-drag.

Hi all.

Yep so i did the tutorial for Space Exploration. probably got to the third mission before calling it quits. the one where you have to find the Gravimetric site. i spent literally 3 and a half hours trying to pinpoin the dang thing i cant for the life of me do it i end up slipping up and lose the circle compleltly. i realized then and there i was not patient enough for this type of scanning heh.

Hehe... I had the same experience when I began playing EVE. I was all gung ho about the idea of exploration at first but the tutorial gave me a headache and I never touched it since even though I have decent skills. Maybe I will try it again. I'm nearly at the 3 year mark in EVE (56 M sp). I haven't undocked more than a few minutes in several months and contemplating closing my account unless I find something to do that isn't boring, irritating and or requires grinding PVE (missions etc.) to make ISK to fund a PVP lifestyle which in itself doesn't pique my interest. GASP your burned out of EVE?! i didnt think it was possible!!!! 0.0
