Hi, I have had atrocious luck shooting people but I blame that on practice. So I fit out my Vexor the other day and head out to try and break things.

I find myself hopping through some FW stations but not finding anybody in the systems I'm a bit discouraged. I arrive at the last lowsec system I had plotted out and sat at the gate trying to figure where to go next.

I see a couple of small containers sitting near the gate and I really wanted to know how much damage the gate guns do so I think I'll shoot one and then warp off after a bit. But before I can shoot any of them a hauler jumps into the system.

He is gone by the time I get in range but then 2 more join local. I move to jump range on the gate and wait and a Caracal lands 20km away and locks me up. I'm about to engage him when a Hound shows up on D-scan so I hold off. I have a 1600mm plate and MWD fitted so I figure the bomber will 2 shot me (I might be completely wrong).

I jump through when the SB lands, but the Hound jumps after me and warps off. I return to the previous system and the Caracal pilot is still in system but not at the gate. I wait for a little bit and then go look for him at the sun, but he's not there.

I return to the gate and seconds later the Caracal lands again, but this time he is solid red with a skull in my overview. I think this means he is GCC so the gate won't shoot at me if I attack him.

I lock him up but wait for him to jump. After a few seconds I guess that the GCC won't let him jump so I attack him and he dies very fast. The killmail shows the gate guns did a lot more damage than I did, but also that he had warp core stabilizers fitted.

It was fun even though a bit unfair for the other guy, but does GCC prevent you from using gates for the full 15 minutes? And why did he just sit there if he had stabs fitted? His character was about the same age as mine so I think maybe he didn't know about the GCC either and kept trying to jump (if that's true).

If he had stabs he mighta been trying to warp out but got popped first.
