EVE doesn't have bugs so it's probably a windows bug or user bug

Are you using windows 7?

There is a bug that comes up sometimes. If you type te555 it will do exactly as you've described. So if you accidentally put a space when typing your character name. Like this na te555, it would black screen on you.

chkdsk good...
Can get to boot disk
Won't boot windows...

I could give you the Mac users answer: "Windows, there's your problem"

Or I could give you the IT professionals answer: "Have you turned it off and on again?"

Or the slightly more realistic answer: "You disabled your anti-virus to get to those websites with the talkative ladies again, didn't you"

There is no such thing as a fair fight...

If your fighting fair you have automatically put yourself at a disadvantage.

You should try the Issues, Workarounds & Localization forum. General Discussion is usually not very helpful at all.

Press f8 during bootup, and boot to a previous version or safemode. If that doesn't work, you have a hardware failure somewhere or a critical virus infestation.

I like big guns. I can not lie. You other suckas can't deny. When I warp in, with an itty bity sig, with an arty in your face, you get sprung. You want to pull out your debuffs, 'cause you want to loot my stuff...deep, in a worm with nary, an escape but you can't stop staring. 'Cause, Oh crap!, Baby's got Point!

Get yourself Ubuntu on a memory stick, launch from that, backup all your files to an external HDD and re-install windows. Works every time, so long as your HDD isn't 100% borked.

In the old days, a black screen with a blinking cursor meant you had left a floppy disk in the drive. Check for any and all drives and USB ports to make sure nothing is plugged in.

Uh......... on the off chance you aren't making a joke and for the benefit of any who don't realize that you're joking, spybot is not a substitute for anti-virus.

Try this: reboot the computer and spam the F8 key. You should eventually get the option to select how you want to boot windows (repair mode, safe mode, safe mode with command prompt, etc..) Try the repair mode and/or the restore to previous good checkpoint.

Also, to quote an old buddy: Never get emotionally attached to your data.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.
