It's been quiet in Delve, bar Nulli welping a Gila fleet on us. Hoping for a busier weekend!

Delve just exploded!

The crapstorm has arrived

Well ladies and gentlespergs, it’s that moment you’ve all been waiting for…

Everyone and their mother just announced their deployment to Delve.

In the blue corner there is the entire CFC (Goons, TEST (that’s us lol), EXE, FA, SMA etc), Fountain Allies (99%, TASHA) and Pandemic Legion. In the red corner there is Nulli Secunda, Red Alliance, -A-, Raiden (Yes, Raiden!) and INIT.

This promises to be epic!

Off to a bang

This escalation of the goodfights campaign kicks off with a PL spy offline the TCU in RA’s staging system and stealing over 120bil+ in assets and ISK. RA right now are very demoralised.

We’re putting some fantastic numbers into fleets, and they’re happening all day long, even moon time.

Holy crap we need you!

Recruitment for ENL-I has exploded and we’re bringing in more recruitment officers to cope with the demand. We’re looking to expand massively, so come talk to us!

Another week in paradise

#Delve2012

Unless you have been living under a rock - or carebearing deep in high-sec - you will have undoubtedly seen some mention of the war which is happening right now in Delve. The majority of EVE's biggest and most powerful players are currently slugging it out in and around NPC Delve - current estimates put the total number of people involved in the conflict at around 60-80,000 making it the biggest conflict in EVE's history and arguably the largest player gathering of any game ever. Records are literally being set.

In the blue corner we have the CFC (TEST, Goons, FA, RZR, etc), Fountain Allies (TASHA, 99%) and Pandemic Legion. In the red corner we have the SoCo (Southern Coalition) comprised of Nulli Secunda and allies, with Red Alliance and now -A-, and their allies. Solar Wing are currently keeping NCDot occupied in the North to keep them from coming and helping the CFC (???), and are doing a fine job be feeding them dozens of capital kills.

But what exactly is at stake? Why are we fighting? It's easy to go "awh yea, war, uh, what is it good for" but what is it we are all fighting for?

Ultimately, for the CFC, it's about gaining more space. We're a collection of some of the largest alliances in the game. In fact, Goons and TEST are the largest alliances in the game. So we're looking to expand, bring in more allies, secure our own space and, don't laugh, create a future.

The seeds of war began several months ago when TEST alliance, with Pandemic Legion, deployed to Delve for "good fights". Nulli Secunda were crafty in their mixture of blue balls and overwhelming numbers, so we began to control the game a little by forcing Nulli to fight to save a tower, or a system. This was working pretty well when suddenly a wild 99 Percent fleet came out of nowhere and SBU'd the majority of Delve. Suddenly timers were coming out every day and things began to heat up. At some point our respective leaders said, "You know what? Delve is actually kinda purrty" and so we decided to switch our goodfights campaign to an all out sov grab.

Oh god Mister Vee and Shadoo....

Mister Vee is my all time favourite FC. He is a Goon FC and I literally get horny when I see him ping on jabber. Shadoo is a Pandemic Legion FC, quite famous, and is also a brilliant FC. When I heard both of these guys on comms leading a fleet together I literally trembled... I didn't really. Well, yes I did. A little.

Both the blue team and the red team have some awesome numbers. We're both roughly equal, fielding 700-1000 each depending on what time of day it is. The biggest difference however is we have some of the greatest FCs in the game on our side, which makes a huge difference.

The fighting is glorious. To put things into perspective; in the 3 days in July, so far (with 4 hours left today to go), ENL-I has had over 700 kills. In 3 days...

Making history

This year ENL-I has been a part of almost all of the major events happening in EVE. At the start of the year we helped to re-take Branch and cause White Noise to failcascade. We then helped take Tenal and push Raiden out of nullsec altogether. During this conflict we helped to kill the first titan of 2012, as well as the first supercarrier. Then we took part in "Burn Jita", an event publicised in magazines and all over the internet.

And now we're in the biggest war EVE has ever seen. And, to put it quite smugly, we were here first.

Enlightened Academy on its way!

Official Opening Date: 1 August 2012

That's right folks! Our new Academy will be opening on the first of August.

It will be based in high-sec, next to nullsec, and there will be level 1-4 agents in the station. We will be running regular fleets into Syndicate. We will be providing a detailed skill training plan, providing free skillbooks and ships, and you'll be training up for approximately 30-45 days. At this point, with several fleets under your belt, you'll be ready to join ENL-I proper.

The goal here is to not only provide a fantastic beginning for new pilots but also to keep a fresh supply of well trained recruits trickling into ENL-I.

Thanks Tusen.

Thought I would give a mini update.

It's only 6 days into July but we've had over 1,600 kills already. The fighting is immense and, despite what you may have read, the -A-/Nulli boys are putting up a pretty good fight. They put big numbers into fleets, fly shiny ships and have a great way of using bomber fleets which does a lot of damage. I think what is edging the war onto our side is because we have some cracking FCs, like Mister Vee, Shadoo, Vily - plus the many ENL-I FCs running important ops during this campaign.

Oh, and the Academy opens on the 1st August P

#Delve2012

Carnage and mayhem

Delve is just on fire right now. The amount of PvP happening down there is ridiculous. The region has consistently been top of Dotlan's "Most violent systems", usually all 5 spots too. There is everything here, from solo roaming, small gang warfare right through to blob on blob and supercapital escalations.

TEST is stomping through the region and we have taken dozens of systems. The fleets are happening throughout the day so there's something happening in each time zone.

-A- & co have also added a new dimension to the fighting by introducing large bomber wings in addition to their main fleets. This makes fighting very difficult because at any moment 50+ bombers could uncloak next to you and wipe your entire fleet out. This certainly adds to the excitement factor!

MOAR MEATSHIELD!

Oh god we need more!!!! Our recruiters have been working flat out day and night in bringing more people into the corp. This is an amazing time to join with PvP happening constantly. There's something for everyone, including frigate fleets, bomber fleets, battlecruiser/battleship fleets, tengu fleets and capital and supercapital fleets too. Whatever your flavour you'll find something to do.

Drop by ENL-I to speak to us about anything.

Enlightened Academy

Updates about the academy in my blog posts will become a regular occurrence for the time being as we gear up for opening day - 1 August 2012!

We've had lots of volunteers inside ENL-I willing to help out in everything, from getting our Wiki ready to being an ENL-A FC. We'll also have a fully stocked hanger in our home system to give out free PvP ships for fleets, as well as skillbook packs.

I'm positively ecstatic about what we're about to be offering new pilots to EVE. For those interested mainly in PvP this is a fantastic way to begin your career!

#Delve2012 is coming to an end, with the war about to be pushed further towards -A- space.

It started with Vera Cruz announcing they would be leaving to help in IRC's war. This was followed by Viking Empire, whose space was SBU'd by LAWN which pissed them off.

And now, Nulli Secunda, our main adversary for this conflict, has decided to throw the towel in. They've made a spectacular statement against -A- being douches, and are now leaving.

TEST now holds the most about of Sov for any one alliance in EVE, and the push continues!

A state of flux

#Delve2012 coming to a close?

I shall shamelessly plug my Twitter here - EVE_Lovelocke (add me add me!!!) - and say that if you have me added on twitter you will have seen some juicy gossip. Our TIA (Test Intelligence Agency), which has spies in most major alliances, reported several of the Delve inhabitants were leaving, and I released this juicy intel on twitter.

So yea, basically, our continued pressure on Nulli and friends caused a lot of drama and their coalition broke. They also made a lot of mistakes, such as having everyone and everything deployed to 319, which we subsequently hell-camped.

Viking Empire were the first causality. Vera Cruz quickly followed suit. Then Nulli Secunda finally threw the towel in.

What happens now?

Well, although we have technically "won", in a sense, -A- are still active and, as of writing, they just kicked our arse. So our grinding of Delve, Querious and Period Basis will be marred by constant aggression from -A- and their allies.

There is also the possibility of other hostiles entering the fray, although I have nothing concrete I can mention yet.

So the war technically isn't over, but it's winding down a little, but with a possibility of firing back up again.

Upcoming changes to recruitment

I thought I would give everyone a heads up to our upcoming changes to recruitment.

We've just done a huge recruitment drive, adding quite a large amount of new pilots to the corp. So on the 1 August 2012 we'll be closing our doors for 2 weeks, to help us catch up on the backlog of applications as well as allow us to concentrate on the academy. The remainder of August will see recruitment open but only for those with vouches - and we're introducing a "must be a member of ENL-I for 30 days to vouch" rule too.

Moving onwards, from September we'll most likely increase our recruitment requirements slightly to help lower the amount of applications we receive, for a little while. We just need some time to consolidate our numbers.

The Academy!

I'm pleased to say our new academy is already generating a lot of interest!

I had some amazing ideas over the weekend and we'll have some exciting announcements soon.

As it stands, we're on track to open on the 1 August 2012. We have our staff alts in place, in-game channels created and enough people from ENL-I involved to make sure fleets go out regularly.

Stay tuned for more info!

Kane Boirelle - Adorable newbie

My updates are normally about the corp itself, or more recently about the academy. My updates also include information about the war, or any other PvP activities happening. Due to the most adorable behaviour of Kane Boirelle I have decided to simply talk about him, and his adorable-ness.

Exactly what we want

When Kane applied to ENL-I he had very little PvP experience. He had played since December 2011 yet still considered himself a newbie, due to spending most of his time in high-sec running missions. As if often the case our prospective recruits hear about us through the grapevine, and our tales of foolish bravery and lol-I-died-lol-ness laid back attitude to PvP'ing intrigued Kane enough for him to join our public channel.

Before long we had helped him register on our forums, interviewed him, determined him to be an adorable newbie and we accepted him into our community. He was assigned a mentor, helped into Fountain to set up a ratting ship and then helped down to 1DH to set up his PvP ships. In the 3 weeks he's been in ENL-I, despite him having little to no PvP experience, he has clocked up an impressive 174 skills: https://kb.pleaseignore.com/?a=pilot_detail&plt_id=157132

It isn't his impressive killboard which has drawn my attention to him however, but rather his attitude and adorableness.

I keep saying adorable don't I? Let me explain...

On the 6 July, after being in the corp for 4 days, and diving headfirst into fleets, he posts on our forums, a snippet of which is:

Upon accepting I Pod jumped down, got in a rifter and been on every Fleet Op I can, I took part in the Fleet battle in 319 Last night and that with the Fleet roams, Ops and camps I have been on I have officially fallen back in love with this game, This is the sort of thing I have wanted all along, I have sunk so much ISK the last few days, lost a few frigs and pods and a Instacane but I haven't cared because right now I am having the most ridiculous amount of fun I have ever had in a Game before.

This Corp, Everyone I have flown with over the last 3 - 5 days has made this happen.
I thank you

Our DAWWWWW meter is rising.

Then the other day, after this battle https://kb.pleaseignore.com/?a=kill_related&kll_id=503587, Kane, swollen with pride from ENL-I's excellent showing, makes another post:

Now when I first joined EvE, or rather got into it I loved the whole creation aspect and the be part of something bigger than yourself. With the Op last night defending our Sov from -A- I really felt that, I felt what this game was about and to be honest I felt that I had done something significant, Sure I got quickly popped in my Scorpion, But for at least a few minutes I had some Logi's jammed which meant our DPS was having an easier time, I had 70 People target and shoot me, which meant someone else in Fleet was being shot or killed and I loved every damn second of it, To others it may seem like a small contribution but I felt like I was actually doing something large and worthwhile.

While my time in Null and ENL-I/TEST has been short I have had more fun and never been more encouraged and happy to log in, Fly and lose crap. The people in this Corp and alliance are some of the best people I have ever known online, and while it seems stupid to take happiness from a game, I am happy that I am enjoying this so much and it is making a difference

So to everyone who accepted me and concluded that I actually wasn't a Spy, I thank you and look forward to flying with you again. I won't be doing anymore of these "Smug/Proud Newbro Posts" as I think this is too many already xD

My DAWWWW meter is getting ready to explode.

And then, just when we didn't think he could become any more adorable, he then responds to a thread I made regarding our Academy, in which:

My alt is building 110 Rifters in Hi-Sec at the moment, Once they are finished I will get them shipped to the deployment area, I'll most likely also invest in getting the test free fittings, so that I can assemble them in the deployment area ready for August.

Basically it Will be a mini Test Free operation, Ill give out a Rifter to anyone who needs/asks for them, But Newbros get priority

I just exploded.

He's a newbie and he's so in love with our community that he's building 110 rifters in high-sec to give out, for free, to other newbies in ENL-I and in the Academy.

I <3 Newbies

I see these corps with high minimum skill requirements. That "you must have 1000+ kills to join" requirements. And I'm glad that I am the CEO of ENL-I and I get to make the rules, because it is indescribably satisfying seeing these newbies joining and becoming heroes. To see Kane get so involved and want to give back is amazing, truly amazing. And so my philosophy of the newbro is proven, in that a newbro is far more likely to forge a strong bond and loyalty to your corp.

And this is what Enlightened Academy is all about - giving back to the community, helping newbies through the harsh steep learning curve of EVE and helping to make ENL-I and even greater community than what it already is.

Against All Authorities and the loss of 16 supercarriers

It was a dark and stormy evening in England. There was nothing on TV and EVE was quiet. The CFC was sending out a POS bashing fleet; I decided this would be more interesting than ratting, at least I could troll my fleetmates with "HI GUYS IS THIS THE HELLCAT FLEET? WHAT IS THE TS3 SERVER ADDRESS?" and laugh at their rage. You can't troll rats. Believe me, I've tried.

While I patiently watched a red line appear my jabber client began to rumble. At first I thought the internet had been hit by lightning, but I quickly dismissed that thought as nothing more than ridiculous. So I opened jabber and took a butchers, what I saw startled me and took me a few seconds to register.

The Preface

TEST Alliance recently dropped a new station in a system in Delve, K-6K. This was destined to become our new home. We knew -A- knew of its importance and so we were rushing to get all of our assets there. Moving fleets had been up constantly for a day, and we had been bringing a stash of supplies there too. On this dark and stormy evening we had a couple of moving fleets active, with titans bridging people back and forth as they began moving their assets. Everything was going as expected, until...

-A- suddenly out of nowhere dropped a supercap fleet, and a Tengu support fleet, on a couple of TEST carriers that had jumped to the beacon in K-6K. Watching this was a Pandemic Legion FC who, like me upon seeing jabber, was startled by this. You see, at this moment in time both TEST and PL were active, in fleets, moving assets; for -A- to jump in this supercap fleet it seemed unbelievable, something completely unexpected. K-6K was the lions den, and the lions were awake and exercising their aching limbs. And then, as inexplicable as a placenta, the -A- supercap fleet warped to the K-6K station and began shooting the services (cloning, repair etc).

Not only had -A- jumped into the lions den they then proceeded to go and lie on the dinner plate, sticking two fingers up as they did so. It took the PL FC several moments to react; fortunately TESTs Dysphonia Fera was on the ball and ordered every dictor to undock and begin bubbling.

Chaos

It was at this point when I saw jabber rumbling, and after getting over my startled state I began realising just what was happening. 16 -A- supercarriers were being bubbled, on the K-6K station, and we were gunning for their demise.

The rumble began slowly, presumably because everyone pretty much didn't believe what they were being told - This is TEST Alliance after all, we like nothing more than trolling each other. But there can only be so many screams of "GET IN A DICTOR, BUBBLE THE SUPERS" before you realise you are not being trolled.

TEST Alliance, already with a few hundred people online, began to wake up. People began logging in and before long we had close to 800 people online. As my pos-bashing guns continued cycling, with killing the odd NCDot Tengu, I started rallying Enlightened Industries' troops. "GET IN FLEET, GET ONLINE, SHOUT YOUR FRIENDS, GET IN FLEET, GET ONLINE" etc.

The tools of genocide

As if a medium had predicted this moment and told one of our military director's fortunes, Fras Siabi had only just a few hours previous stocked K-6K up with over 10bil worth of dictors and hictors. With a dedicated tackle in-game channel people were given ships for free to keep the supers bubbled while our army formed.

And we burned through the whole 10bil of dictors.

-A- were concerned by the amount of dictors we were throwing at them. They began burning away; their Tengus focusing on the tackle. And then the moment that makes any hardened FC weak at the knees; Pandemic Legion supers began to log on.

At this point -A- knew they were in trouble and began to batphone their allies for assistance. What they thought was a good idea was quickly turning into a disaster, and so they fumbled furiously, mashing their keyboards, screaming into their mics - save the supercaps!

Too late

By the time -A- realised they were in trouble it was simply too late. TEST was throwing hundreds of dictor pilots at them. And, after all, the supers were on the station, so all we had to do was undock and hit bubble. Hell, we didn't even have to be in fleet.

Fleets began to fill up fast. Secondary fleets began to form. A welp fleet jumped in and began hitting the Tengus, forcing them away from the dictors. Carriers began jumping in to provide reps to the dictors. Bubbles began being anchored.

And then PL supers jumped in. TiDi hit 90%, which gave attacking forces more time to form and to move more assets into place.

Instacanes began hitting enemy bombers. Welp canes burned to the Tengus. Fighter bombers began making their slow journey over to the enemy supercaps. A Hel died almost instantly to a unified firing of Titan doomsdays.

It was at this point a stunning realisation hit me: we weren't hoping to kill one or two of them, we were intending to annihilate them all. This wasn't a battle, it was genocide.

Dirty blobbers

As jabber pings caught peoples attention, as people began texting their friends, the thought of killing so many supercaps proved too much for even the hardiest of "game-winners", and everyone logged in. ENL-I's US TZ Shenjo - who was at work at the time - ran out of work, screaming to his boss "GOTTO RUN -A- SUPERCAPS TACKLED", and got in his van and drove home. The temptation proved too great; people rang in work sick, people were woken up in the middle of the night and I dare say wives were left unsatisfied as this murder unfolded.

Within 30 minutes the HBC had amassed more than 1000 pilots and over 70 supercaps. TiDi made the destruction take a while, as though lengthening the exquisite delight in a sort of a slow-mo Matrix-style blob-a-thon.

Every so often a delightful spectacle of 30+ titans all doomsdaying all at once brightened up space. A beautiful display of destruction; the epitome of a juxtaposition.

So high right now

Everyone was literally screaming. Our mumble server almost died. Jabber was straining. EVE itself was struggling with the amount of destruction happening in Delve.

Makalulu eventually disengaged his Tengu fleet, presumably after his own supercarrier got destroyed, and decided to save what he could which was, in my opinion, a smart move.

Other than enemy bombers the HBC was left to tend to the supercarriers destruction. The new changes to self-destruct mechanics meant there was little point in them self-destructing, so they didn't, so props to them for that.

One by one the supercarriers fell. The battlefield was littered with wrecks, many of them our own. We spent tens of billions to complete this murder, but it was worth it. For several hours afterwards our entire coalition dithered as everyone retold the same story with their own slant on it, their own view. Youtube exploded with videos almost instantly. Hilarious images and .gifs were spammed. Even a song was made.

This was exactly what TEST needed after a long and brutal war. This was exactly what -A- didn't need.

Oh god, the community

A quick google will produce dozens of results of imagines, videos etc. Here are my favourites:

Battlereport: https://kb.pleaseignore.com/?a=kill_rel ... _id=533870 / http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=14348989

This is where I brag about ENL-I participation. We had a total of 126 ENL-I members involved in the battle. To be absolutely fair many of these were duel/triple boxing, with dictors and a capital ship, but still that is a lot

Our participation recently has been brilliant. We formed 70 for the horrible-timed 49- defense. There is so much happening right now in Delve, with fights happening every day. It does mean we haven't been able to do as many corp ops as we normally do, but most people are thoroughly enjoying themselves.

A big shout out to -A- who keep on bringing it.

Quick update...

So we've all been quite busy in ENL-I this past few weeks. The war in Delve is going steady, with plenty of timers and fights.

Pandemic Legion have brought in a new fleet doctrine, called "Fox Cats" with their slightly less abled brother the "Faux Cat". This is basically a Navy Apocalypse/Apocalypse doctrine which has a high EHP and a long range and good tracking doctrine. It's designed to be able to track and hit Tornados, Tengus as well as survive multiple bombing runs - which -A- are reknowned for.

We're just starting to revitalise our corp ops. We've been concentrating so heavily on the war in Delve, as well as the Academy, that we've neglected doing things together. So we have begun to import all the ships needed for Nanohacs and we'll be roaming in these around the hotzone. Nanohacs are fun, fast and good to GTFO if you get hotdropped - which -A- is likely to do.

Recruitment is currently 'vouch only' which means you can only apply if someone in the corp already says you're not a douche. Full recruitment will reopen in a couple of weeks. We brought in so many last time we decided to spend some time allowing the corp to adjust. That's the thing with ENL-I - we're such a popular corporation (*cough*) whenever we open recruitment it's like an autistic tidal wave flooding through the gates.

Anyhoo, if you know any newbies or have any family members interested in getting down with PvP then give our Academy a shout!

End of month review...

Delve... just Delve...

Well several months ago TEST joined up with bum chums Pandemic Legion and we threw a load of gasoline all over Delve and lit a match. The result was a relaxed kerfuffle with Nulli Secunda and Red Alliance.

A bit of propaganda here, a few supercap hotdrops there and the war began to escalate further and further until it became a full blown sov war. As the newly formed Honey Badger Coalition (HBC) began to take space RA/Nulli began to fray at the seams. -A- didn't provide the help they severely needed and so both RA and Nulli retreated from the battlefield and went to lick their wounds.

With resistance at a minimum the HBC swept through Delve and overspilled into Querious and Period Basis too. We quickly began searching for worthy allies to give space to and the HBC began to grow. At one point the CFC came down for some good fights.

Memories

All that though seems such a long time ago. That relaxed kerfuffle and subsequent sov war has transformed into a gruelling, and tiring, tug-of-war with -A- who have finally fully committed to protecting its borders. Whilst we poke fun at -A- a lot, and to be fair they do make it easy for us to do so, one should not forget that -A- a patient and persistent enemy, one which withstood an onslaught from the remnants of the DRF - who were aided by both PL and NCDot - and managed to emerge from that conflict victorious.

-A- are constantly SBU'ing our systems (making them vulnerable), reinforcing our stations and generally being a pain in the backside. Their Tengu fleets are difficult to engage and their bomber fleets make you want to scream. As such we have had to develop a new doctrine, one which can engage Tengus without the requirement for as many special snowflakes (Huginns) and one which can withstand a bombing run. And so the "Fox Cat" was born. Yes, 'cat' doctrines are beginning to bore me too. Crap name aside, this is a fleet of Navy Apocalypse's which have an optimal range of 90km+ and can really pack a punch.

They call it a spitroast

Just when we were solidifying our position in Delve some bad news broke; Red Alliance are to return to the conflict by deploying to NPC Fountain. They have allied with various alliances and are in the middle of reinforcing the entire region. Raiden are rumoured to be joining them.

With Red Alliance behind us, and -A- in front, we literally have PvP all day long. It has been a long and brutal war and it continues on with our enemies wanting nothing more than to see us burn.

We need you (meatshield ftw)

Recruitment is open. We need you to come fight the forever war.

Like PvP? We average over 1000 kills a week. There is literally something for everyone, all day long. Small gang roams, Black Ops, blobfests, supercap battles, carrier ops, the list is endless.

Bob on over to ENL-I.

Well recruitment is steady at the moment. We're stipulating 'outstanding' applications only at this point so it really is in your best interests if you DELVE into your gaming career a bit more. See what I did there? DELVE lolololo

So far in 3 days we've killed over 500 which includes 70 tengus. We are literally approaching 100bil damage done in just 3 days. Delve is awesome!

Come to ENL-I and join in the fun, or if you're a bit of a newbie reading this and a bit unsure, head to ENL-A and receive training and support before coming to ENL-I.

A strange week

Highs and Lows

I just have to begin my weekly blog update with a mention to Vile Rat - a member of Goonswarm who recently lost his life. If you haven't seen this on the news simply google his name and you'll find it. Neither myself nor members of ENL-I knew him well, but back in SMA we did use to speak to him and deal with him in the course of being a member of the CFC. His passing, especially in such circumstances, has come as a shock.

As well as this one of our older members, Kahless Stovokor, has passed away from cancer.

People often talk about EVE's "meta game" by giving examples of spies, corp thefts etc, but to me it is the real-world connections and friendships you forge with people in-game, and subsequent real-world emotional responses that better describe the above-and-beyond-EVE connections. This isn't just spaceships on a screen but a community you become a part of, one which spaceships often become merely secondary, a side-affect. This week I and my corp mates have felt quite low due to these passings.

Highs?

Heaving a sigh and getting my head down I shall talk about the corp and other things which have been good - as hard as it is.

There are a lot of shakeups in ENL-I at the moment in terms of corp activity. We're bringing new managers in to help ensure regular corp ops happen. We're encouraging more fcs than ever. We're introducing our own corp doctrine as well as flying other tried and tested, such as nanohacs. This is a work in progress - being a member of a large alliance you fall into the routine of alliance fleets - but we're getting better.

Perhaps the most positive change which will happen soon is my new better personal circumstances. A while ago (almost a year) I had some bad stuff happen in my real life - which I won't bore you with - which meant I had to become semi-active. Thankfully I had put in place a strong directorate and the corp ran just fine in my semi-absence. We grew to 400+ and made many more achievements. It is as though I haven't been semi-inactive at all. But I have.

Well, my real life is getting better and I shall soon be moving into my new house (hopefully early October). This will have the affect of me coming back full time, which means I'll be fc'ing a lot more (usually every day at least once), being more social on comms and being more active generally. This will no doubt have a positive affect on the corp (I hope) and will result in us growing even stronger.

That's it for now

I'm working on my Around the EVE in 80 Nerds - a project where I visit every region in EVE. I've done the first leg of the journey, I just need to write it up. So keep an eye on www.ENL-I.com for these posts - also keep your eye out for a new sexy design.

Recruitment is open as usual, ENL-I - come chat to us!

Steady as she goes

All the kills...

September was an interesting month for ENL-I.

I've mentioned some of the real life losses we've experienced in my last update, so I won't go over those again. We did have a lot of highs during September, and as always the month was full of bloodshed. Some interesting stas:

751 battlecruisers killed - 428 battleships killed - 20 carriers killed - 8 dreadnoughts killed - 3 supercarriers killed

We did also kill 133 T3's, most of these were at the beginning of the month and then -A- decided to stop welping near-1bil isk ships.

Killboard stats don't tell the whole story, of course.

The rise of the Honeybadger Coalition

I'm going to give a brief political round-up of what affects ENL-I.

ENL-I is part of TEST and earlier in the year we formed the HBC with Pandemic Legion. We worked well together; PL provide amazing FCs and a large supercap fleet and TEST provides thousands of screaming autistics who are happy to die over and over again. At some point our leader Montolio decided to escalate our muckabout in Delve to an all out sov war, in which we obtained Delve, Period Basis and Querious.

By this point we owned so much space we became the largest sov holding alliance in the game. We needed to add members to our coalition so we could cement our strength and take some of the pressure off us from holding so much space. We invited our friends Tribe down and began putting feelers out. Before long Li3 Federation, THORN and a couple of others joined us and began adding to our strength.

Despite their determined FCs and high-skilled pilots -A- just couldn't withstand the 'blob' - especially when FCs of the calibre of Shadoo were leading them. SoCo resistance softened and we rolled through the regions, and defended from counter-attacks.

-A- began a forum posting war on Kugu so Montolio decided to twist the knife, and so we invited Raiden and Initiative to become members of our coalition. I'll be honest and say I don't particularly like Raiden - I began my nullsec career being invaded by them, and spent the rest of it fighting them. To have them as blue now is just weird. But alas, that's politics for you. The reasoning behind the move is sound - We're bringing more allies in, -A- are losing allies. And after some excellent diplomancery we also struck a deal with Nulli Secunda - ex SoCo members - who are now opening up a second front against -A- with the clear goal of pushing them back to Stain, and perhaps beyond.

Political intrigue

It's weird imagining a game with politics. When you pick up your trusty axe in WoW and go slay some goblins or whatever they do in that game, it's unlikely their grinding will be governed by politics. I can't think of any other game in which politics plays such a major role. Pilots spend hours, and lots of real life money, building up their corporations and alliances. Buying titans, recruitment drives, etc, but unless they have a competent diplomat then all that could be for nought, because a wrong word said at the wrong time can result in your alliance being reset and you being thrown out of your home.

Right now I am a diplomat for both TEST Alliance and our feeder alliance, TEST Friends. It's strange to think that almost 10,000 players rely on me, and the other diplomats. It's also strange being a go-to guy for when there is some inter-alliance drama where I deal with different corp's CEOs in resolving issues. In what other game would you do this?

I love it.

THA FUCHAR

At the moment it's the usual. Still working on increasing our supercap fleet (I've still not got that bloody titan yet!). We are recruiting. The Academy is still going strong. Activity is high as usual.

Oh, I got the keys to my house today, which means come next week I'll be back fully 100% active. I don't think I've done too badly considering I've been semi-inactive this past near-year, let's see where I can take us now I'm back!
