Tanking my Mackinaw

I'm using 1xDCU II and 2xMLU II on my Mackinaw. The later makes the strippers eat more CPU, or something.

I find it difficult to add tank, though. I've added a Small Shield Booster, and a T2 Invuln, but the SSB doesn't do much, and it eats cap like crazy. I tried to fitting a Medium Shield Extender, even meta4, but that won't fit at all. And Small Shield Extender adds so little shield HP it's silly.

Is there anything I can do, within the constraints of 2xMLU ?

I'm using a T1 Survey Scanner in a MID slot, deliberately T1 because the 15 km range matches the range of my strippers, but I guess I don't really need the scanner. I just suck all the ore within range anyway...

Played around for a while, I used a survey scanner because after fitting a tank, fittings become tight and require implants etc, and for the fitting of a scanner, there really isn't much more that can fit in that mid slot.

Honestly if you don't have 3 MLUs on your Mackinaw then you should be using a Skiff with 2 MLUs and a shield tank in the mediums. It will have the same yield as the Mackinaw and it can fit a nice tank cheaply.
