Location to hubs system

Hi,

I was wondering if there was a system that existed where you can enter your current location and it will tell you the number of jumps (safe and not safe) to some per-presrcibed regions.

In my case I would want to leave a wormhole system into known space and then hit a button and it tell me how far from the major trade hubs (or indy locations) I am, in an instant.

Does such a thing exist? If not, how easy would it be to create?

I've added this little feature to my routeplaner

http://www.eve.lu/route/

For those that don't know it yet, here's a quick summary.

  • Directors can enter the Jumpbridges that the alliance has access to
  • Route will be plot the fastest considering the JBs
  • You can use a second monitor to follow your steps with the outgame interface (just enter the character you want to track).
  • For all those who want to abuse that function, it only works if you have the same IP-Adress than the one ingame.
  • You can now see the distance to up to five systems of your choice

Feel free to yell if there's something missing

oh.... can't wait to test this later!

So, once i come out of WH space, will it auto tell me the route distance to the major hubs? or do I need to use it like dotlan maps route planner?

You mention jumpbridges, but I need just plain old simply autopilot route.

Why am I under the impression that this is already implemented in the EVE client? Is someone failing to use the in-game map browser?

try to check 5 systems at once in-game browser..

It's the "lazy factor" ;)

it will use the shortest ways if there's no jumpbridge
and yet, it should automatically update every 10 seconds (if you change system)
