First, I would recommend that you get a Noctis, preferably train an alt to use it if you have one. It will make looting and salvaging missions quick and painless. Fit it the same way you used to fit a destroyer for salvaging.

Second, get an Armageddon Navy Issue, fitted like so: PvE - Missions. You are not too far away from the T2 Turrets, probably a month at most, and Hammerhead IIs and Warrior IIs will be more than enough for the time being.

For null-sec and PvP in general, you have Amarr Cruiser V, which makes this much easier:

It really all depends on what you like to fly, and what sort of help you can get. But in the end, just pick one, and fly it.

Personally, I have a soft spot for Sacrilege. It requires that you train HAMs, but it is extremely versatile due to being armour tanked, giving it a lot of freedom for mid slots and capacitor management. It also has another trick up it's sleeve... It can be fitted with a 100MN AB, giving it speeds of over 1600m/s with no penalty to Signature Radius... With this kind of fit, you can still get 19k EHP with only a Damage Control II and over 500 DPS, making it a great little tackle ship, something like a glorified Thrasher. The ship can also be tanked extremely heavily, making it good for heavier PvP combat, mission running, 0.0 ratting and exploration.

I deeply appreciate the replies. When I posted my inquiry I hadn't even logged on yet - EVE was still downloading - and when I did I discovered myself in -0.3 space many, many jumps away from safe space. Fortunately (sarcasm at its finest), the corp owning the space station doesn't like me too much (I can't access anything :D) and the only ship I have is my unfitted navy issue arma. oh joy be beholden
i'm a little stumped as to what to do, but as soon as i figure it out i'll utilize your advice to the fullest. thank you.

Sell that Geddon. Unless the locals are complete dumbasses, an unfit faction BS flying around in hostile nullspace is doomed. (I don't think the market can be blocked? Honestly don't remember.)

Then try to find a time when the locals aren't online, and make a run for it. Maybe you'll make it.

Put the Armageddon on the market, make sure medical clone is in hs and has a enough SP and just self destruct. If the geddon doesn't sell, you could always try collect it later.
