Would be good to hear from vet players on how they think eve has come along from 2003.
Whats been the good and bad parts of the game, what you remembered the highlights were, what you miss, and if you could change anything in the game what would it be..

Me well, I remember doing proper pvp, mainly sub cap fights, 100 RR BS roams, or the 20-40 - 100 jump nano roams.
only have 8000 ppl online at once and it not being supercaps online..I really think caps has killed the game by making them pvpown ships, and destroyed real pvp.
I dont miss the endless pos bashing at all, where you had to have 50% of the poses in a system to get sov, remembering when goons had something like 30/29 faction poses just to take one system. However i hate the new sov system, I hate how big alliances are eating up everything, and smaller alliances just really have to be pets or renters and dont really have a chance.
I do think eve has become too saturated now, it needs to be bigger alot bigger.
Move NPC 0.0 away from 0.0 sov regions to stop large alliances taking over those too. Would like to see new low sec and 0.0 npc regions moved before highsec as well.. its too circular highsec in inner circle, low sec in middle, 0.0 in outer circle, would like to see it mixed up more..

ill give you a comment on eve since that **** hilmar posted ,eve has been crashing ,lately getting back up. Seems to me to be a conspiracy from CCP ceo(HILMAR) to kill eve of.

If you dont want eve-online hilmar contact me in game to discuss a price on the purchase of EVE_ONLINE and ill give u a hint now as it stands eve is worth very little ,unstable game engine, bugs that go back to the start ,a CEO that is full of ****,.

ill buy eve and put its direction back to what made it a great game to start with and that is players deciding where the game was going not some fuckwit in an office looking at money flow charts.

please reply before eve becomes another MMO on the trash

P.S the ceo will not be part of the purchase or those employee`s that the community dems are no longer interested in eve

Vets are the greatest grievers, the best scamers and always whining, that's why no one cares what they may or may not think.

They just don't count Lol

Brush up on your spelling and sentence structure dude. If you write code like you write posts, you won't even be able to compile.

Just sayin'....

It doesn't, thanks for letting us know though.

Edit: Oh and I was actually having nostalgic bitterness about no skill-queue today, I was thinking of a way to post about it, thank you for this thread.

Most (but not all) vets live in Eve's past and dwell on it. The future is with new players, and if anything CCP should focus on getting new players more than ever. It's the only way the game will continue on. PROGRESS, not the past.

I think, for the most part, it's changed for the better. Yes, CCP has had some huge missteps but Eve has always been a work in progress. I've played the game since shortly after release and I still love it and as long as the player base cares enough to call CCP out when they do something that sucks I think it'll be around a long time as long as they listen. Every single time it's happened when they've screwed up the players have spoken out and they eventually listen.

It's grrrrrrrreat!

2003: MINNNEEEEEEEEEEE ITTTTTT ALLLL "from the void of veldspar, chribba is born."
2004: PVPeople is emerging from the shadows of EVE.
2005: OH MYAH GODA HUULLKKKK "Chribba becomes a god."
2006: Go Nano or... just go nano bro
2007-2011: Minor patches, fixes of bugs that create new bugs, and semi completed content like planet interaction, incursions, and when ever they added in null sec - complexes, etc.

^ Because I played off and on between these times I am not entirely sure about everything. I just know I have a great game that surprisingly still has a player base after all these years and new content. Big smile

I have no comment to give you because to do so will risk forum banning.
You see CCP now bans negative opinions on these forums so you will have to look on third party forums to view what I think.

I remember people being in space. You could go to any 0.0 "home" and you'd see dozens of systems with people in the belts, mining, ratting, pretty much 24/7.

You'd see people moving between systems, hauling, ratting, mining.

Now you go to 0.0 and no one rats. No one mines. There's no one in space.

You go into the core systems of a 5k player alliance, and you see 100-200 people in local, but they're all docked up. Not actually DOING anything.

I miss hearing alerts go out in "intel" channels/vent/TS wide announcements of "HOSTILES INBOUND.... 14 jumps out in system xxx..."

Then there'd be the mad scramble for everyone to get their ships safe, swapping over to pvp ships, and getting to specific gates/pos's/Safe spots/outposts to defend your home.

Now folks only undock if they have a 5:1 advantage, or for supercapital combat.

I miss FIGHTS. Not blueballs, not supercaps in space, not pos/station/TCU bashing, but FIGHTS.

maybe it's why I turned "pirate".

FiS FiS FiS FiS FiS FiS FiS FiS FiS FiS FiS FiS MIcrotransactions are for DEAD MMO's. NOT for successfull ones. I already pay for 5 accounts. I WILL NOT PAY FOR ANYTHING ELSE!!!

I have:

Managed a pos chain
Ransomed people
Done a lot of production
Lived in null/low/highsec and wormhole space
Flown (almost) every type of subcap
Missioned
Mined
Fought in a few wars
Hauled crap from one corner of the universe to the other, and then back again
Managed a few corporations, advised the direction of a few alliances
Killed Sleepers
Managed reaction chains
Did the highsec war thing
Did the lowsec thing for a little bit
Did the spy thing for a while
Managed a few other people who pulled stuff off

all in all, eve is nice, but after you've done... almost everything you get to a point where goals can be lacking and the game turns boring. Myself and several of my friends have gotten to that point. One of them is looking to finance some DUST mercs quite possibly when that comes out, if ever. I was sort of looking forward to establishments and another couple friends of mine are finding the game just overwhelmingly boring and unentertaining. I personally have gotten to the point where I've gone and actually let one of my enemies off the hook because it was boring watching them squirm and cry at knifepoint.

I'll be honest, nullsec doesnt seem entertaining. It doesnt seem entertaining because its largely controlled by one to five or so large coalitions. I don't care to be a number in a machine for others - I've earned my right to do exactly what-the-**** I want to do when I want to do it on my schedule. That said, if you can find your nitche and get good at it, or enjoy just doing basically everything, it can be fun for a long while. After you do that, though... new stuff is hard to come by.

Thats when it turns boring and you start looking at the unsubscribe button seriously. I've still got a while left in me, I think, but I give it a year maximum unless something truly new comes along in EVE.

I'm not sure I qualify as a vet yet... but I've been here a while.

My thought is the winter expansion this year is going to be the lamest one to date... even though it IS going the right direction. That said... we are going forward again...

Understand this... a lot of us were playing freelancer mods before eve...

it doesn't take much to make us happy.

Things just got so whacked out this year that even we were disappointed.

Now that is looks like someone (anyone!) cares at CCP again about getting back to space it makes me happy.

That said.... Incarna is not a bad feature. In fact... it's really cool when you think about it.

It was just the crappy way they deployed it and the allocating of eve paid-for resources to stupid side projects (WoD) that got everyone so pissed.

I mean seriously... the Apocrypha expansion was a tough act to follow...

The winter expansion will not be so cool...

...but at least CCP is listening. At least we are getting changes that matter and things are moving forward. Those of us who haven't canceled out accounts yet are just waiting to see if the vision of the SciFi simulator they've been talking about is the real deal or vaporware. Personally... it's worth it to find out. If it is the real deal EvE will last forever.

Personally, If I am to be considered a vet...I just got enough PLEX to last me to 2014. I guess I'll see. But really that's a sign that I'm not sure... because otherwise I'd have paid for my subscription in dollars and used the ISK for another Unique ship... so we will see.

I hope EvE is real.

I think it probably is.

We will all see soon enough.

Signatures should be used responsibly...

the problem with eve at the current state is the last decent expansion was apocrapha which added wormholes and t3 cruisers. incursions are ok but they were nothing super special dominion's best feature was a fleet finder... tyrannis removed NPC seeded items ( which were an isk sink) and made players get them from planets...

the reason vets are mad bro, and want change is because its been over a year since the last good expansion, and incarna was was litterally nothing, so far we havent had an expansion this year iirc.
