Been a long time since I tried them (pre nerf), are they actually profitable again yet and can you get in them without pulling a billion isk out of your ass for a t3/pirate bs?

Raevyn Enderas > wasn't it Jerky Boys where they were talking about blasting someone in the ass with a vasoline potato?

It's less profitable. And for non-shiny ships, its even harder to get in. But toss together a maelstrom and wander over to one, see what happens

It's actually easiest to get into them by starting with HQs, since most of the FCs will grab people by who x's up first, rather than who has the shiniest ship. (within reason ofc...a moa probably would not get picked up Ugh )

The ingame channel for that would be "The Valhalla Project"

If you want to try VGs again, BTL is still the best place to find a pickup group AFAIK

But yes, they're actually profitable again. HQs usually hover around 60m/hr provided there are no major holdups. VGs and Assaults can give a bit more but often as not they're run by private channels...best way to get in those it to be picked up when they're short on bodies and dip into BTL or the public incursion channel.

The nerf caused shiny fleets to drop to an optimal isk rate of 120M/hr in hisec, and non-shiny fleets are less profitable than solo level 4 missions, as a general rule, and can be extremely hard to form/keep going, meaning that except for a few communities, the content added in the incursion expansion has effectively been removed for the vast majority of players, especially in low/null.

Communities:

ISN (Channel: ISN Secondary) still exists with shinies, and we welcome some intro ships (join "ISN Fitting" mailing list to see which ones) so long as they are fit properly and the pilot eventually upgrades.

TVP (Channel: The Valhalla Project) is the primary entry-level shield-fleet group, and they mostly do HQs, which are honestly pretty fun, and good for LP payout if you have a good way to turn Concord LP into isk. T1-ship friendly.

TDF (Channel: The Ditanian Fleet) are, to my knowledge, the leaders in armor fleets, if you fly prefer armor. As far as I know they are T1-ship friendly as well.

There are several other smaller or less-discussed communities as well, and I often see fleets forming in incursion local (though, as previously mentioned, those can be slow isk and dangerous).

get logi 4 and a basilisk, or logi 5 and a scimitar and you'll get in any (shield) fleet you want to.. i imagine same goes for armor logi.

flying logi is also a lot less brainless than flying dps

Should say that if you gonna fly a logistic in the more focused fleets, most of them will have you on trial first, with logi backup before they hand the respondsability for their billion isk fleet over to your hands
