to be able to do that they would probably just need to upgrade the trade hub nodes.

They might want to decentralize of hubs without individual reduction. I.E: encourage a few more trade hubs and reasons for people to live in or around them to keep pressure off the big four. Like they did with the former Yulei.

Enough subs to put 100000 Players Online simultaneously is going to require a massive increase in industry as well. If local markets are bought out more then they are more people would crowd into the four hubs.

As it stands now I think regional trade outposts could use a bit more stocking, already to much reason to use the main hubs for every little thing.

Eve universe is quite large..
I traveled 29 jumps in a pod through nullsec few days ago. 80 % of systems were empty, rest had 1-3 players. only 1 had 10+ people in it.

same applies to lowsec.

Only highsec seems to be densely populated, but it also can accommodate much more people.

Server wise yes, mechanic wise I think there would be some issues.

I doubt that.

There is enough (yet empty) hisec / losec space, enough content, enough nullsec to conquer etc.
Some could rage about scarcity of asteroids in hisec, but that would be a good thing actually ...

We all love eve correct? So much so we want many of our friends to play it. What if they did? What if EVE's subs numbers went up to a million? Meaning at any given time there is likely to be 60-120k players on at any time.

What would happen? Would CCP have to change some mechanics of the game to help facilitate all the players? Is EVE currently designed to be able to have a million players? 2 million? etc...

At what point would the "galaxy" not be big enough? I understand you can just make it bigger, but id hope in some eventful ways.

What im really asking is what changes if any would need to come to EVE in order to be able to handle one million + players?

So roughly double what it is now eh?

All those empty low and null-sec systems would have twice as many players in them.

Double zero is still zero

He's a swift one.

By the way, since we're already talking, do you want to buy a rifter? I've got the cheapest rifters in Metropolis. If you can find a cheaper rifter, buy it!

QFT. New players won't make lowsec any better.

What issues?

The over abundance of slaves. This would cause the slave market to collapse, prices would plummet.

But we would have cheaper minerals I suppose. Lol

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!
