True, hard to imagine that working on a titan.

Apparently the Dominix has been done.

How can one tell?

It still looks like a fuzzy potato.

This is not a signature.

No, that is not the case. Tech 3 ships started the whole V3 fad. Thats why T3 ships looked "different" [most notably caldari] than T1/2 etc.

Seleene/Two step: Are you leaning towards a few CCP-defined schemes, or providing players with several limited palettes (main color, highlight, etc.) to choose from.

CCP Huskarl: More towards the latter.

CCP Mannbjörn: I tend towards the former, because it's not just the color that you have to worry about, but the material (and how it interacts with the lighting). There are just too many knobs that would have to fiddle with.

Two step: I would expose the knobs and let interested players tweak them and then sell their color schemes.

--In response to a question from Two step, CCP Mannbjörn noted that updating T3 ships to V3 models will be easier than updating the T1 and T2 ships.

At Fanfest2012 they showed the nVidia Tesselation demo on a Revenant Sansha SC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8k7oaz8mWug&list=SPDDA989F65CD6E98A&index=25&feature=plpp_video

Seems very pretty and detailed.

This post suggests reading, understanding, considering and appropriate response. I fear for EVE GD.

What is V3-ing a ship? Dumb question, I know, but this is actually my main and not a forum alt. I'm new.

Its a triple-shader repack of all ships and a quality improvement of current textures sizes.

Plus new factional skins and new icon layering.

T3s were an experiment to get better textures, however they do not conform to the current V3 texture choices (tone, shading, etc) and do not have V3 shaders or effects.

The Nightmare and Succubus also need the V3 treatment (wonder if they will also look like they took a dip in some petrol like the Phantasm).

Other than that, I think all sub caps are done (aside from some NPC and special gift ships).

Sansha was reworked after the v3 scorpion by almost 8 months. 2010.10.18 for the incursions. They received an oily reflective skin.
They just need the Logo update. If not for npc, at least for players.

This is true. But i think it will be several years before CCP decides to implement something like this , indeed since even a whisper of switching to DX11 causes pre-emptive rage and whine . Implementing something like tesselation would cause untold raging.

Is V3 the model redo like the raven and bombers? Or just the texture change?

Just the texture. They're working on some redesigns too, but that's not V3.

T3s have V3 textures. But not shaders. So they're not "v3ed" but will be much easier to compleet since they're already half done.
