Once again.. the Ishtar for guri plexing

Hi!

So quick question regarding this much loved ship. I have two setups, one being shield and one being armor tanked. The shield setup tanks more EFT DPS but has no AB to fit the drone omnilink. The armor setup however tanks 300 (guri) DPS less than the shield setup but has an AB.

So, assuming I wanna keep the omni link in both setups, am I better off with an extra 300 DPS tank and no AB? Or 300 DPS tank less and AB?

Thanks in advance.

Grabbed a fit from another thread, and tweaked it a hair.

Have yet to try it to be honest, but I bought all the parts and am fairly optimistic that it will work. Runs the AB stable even with my crummy Fuel Conservation skills.

P.S. Oops, missed the part where you wanted to keep the Omni for sentries.

I am using the ishtar in Gurista space to run anomalies and sites up to 8/10. The thing i like about this setup is that it's flexible enough to be used both as a semi-stationary sentry boat or, by replacing the omni's with a navigational computer and one more cap recharger, it becomes fully cap stable running the repper and ab to speed tank the DED's while the drones are killing all the rats.

I can tank forlorn hubs without moving too much, because of the small signature, you only need to pulse the repper from time to time.

The deadspace modules are very cheap (~15m for the plating, 70m for the repper and ~30m for the hardener) and they make a world of difference on this CPU starved ship.

The armor version tanks more/just as well in practice because it has smaller sig and higher transversal, meaning that it takes way less damage in the first place.

And yes, the Omni is worth it.

Please don't fly ships without guns :(

The high slots are open to anything you can squeeze on them, be it 3 blasters/3 railguns or any mix of guns/salvagers/tractor beams/whatnot you want to put in - i was just suggesting a fit that works tank/drone wise.

Thanks for the advice.

Re: the above armor tank fit.

I run a t2 fit of that but with one more repper and dc. Is your version tanky enough with a single rep and less resists? When I flew the shield ishtar (which I believe tanks more eft dps than that) I remember things like Piths Penal being quite demanding on the tank? The shield fit tanks 1300 guri dps but that's obviously without ab and higher sig radius.

Thanks again.

Short answer: yes, it is

Long answer: it can tank anomalies without even moving, i use railguns for extra dps. For 6-7-8/10 and unrated combat sites, i switch to a fit with AB+drone nav comp+3 rechargers, which is cap stable with everything on. The reasons are: easier to speed tank with mobile drone (ogres instead of sentries), and faster times because of the long distances between spawns and gates in some of these sites - just make sure to prioritize in all cases scramming/webbing frigs, stasis towers, then cruisers/BS's, since BS's are really not an issue for this ship.

Stay away from anything with neuting, like the guristas fleet staging point second room
