Yulai was the centre of the universe (the Jita of the old days)
Cruise Missile Kestrels
10mn Afterburner Interceptors
Multiple MWDs
MWD Ravens
8 Heat Sink Gankageddons
Level 3s were the highest Agents
Using Harvester drones whilst mining was a clear sign you were rich!
Having 5000 people on the server at peak times
Curse vs Stain

Probably missed out loads...

Edit: Outrunning missiles in interceptors back when they did full damage to all sized ships!!
No t2 modules, named modules were the best possible

Oh and the days when Signatures worked on the forums.... Rawr

Safe Spots, where really really safe, as you could simply warp in any direction.

Eve is about the journey.  If you are so focused on making money, that you insist on having the tools to make it be made as autonomous and easy as possible, then you are never going to have as much fun as I will.

Rigs were one size, and very, very expensive, only the very rich used them, and only on at least BCs (rare), BS, or T2 variants, which they usually would never risk in PvP, because losing them would genuinely hurt. (ISK 1bn wasn't the new million then, to put it mildly).

Man, I remember these days. Right when I started my friend gave me some advice. "Rigs boost your efficiency in certain areas but you'd have to be stupid to fit one to anything smaller than a faction battleship, much less three of them"

Fast forward to now, the only things I fly unrigged are shuttles :D

Here's a little present for you. My very first lossmail, almost five years ago. I remember it very well, it took me WEEKS to save for...whatever the hell this is.

Nightmares had missiles
A solo vindicator with a hypnos multispec could kill 4 battlships with ease
Low sec was a battleship pilots dream
Solo pvp gave you an adrenalin rush
Only the MC knew how to properly fly mothrships
50 v 50 was a "massive fight"
10 drones from a domi was almost godlike
When a mrc corp/alliance decced you...you paid.

Back in the day you were told you shouldnt fly a Tempest until you have at least 10m SP.
If we only had known back then that the correct ammount of sp to fly a tempest is somewhere closer to 40m spShocked

  • you could kill a npc bs with a few cruise missiles
  • Warp core stab II did actually have 2 stab points and only two existed.
  • a mining laser II cost 30mil
  • used to purchase sets of warp to 0 bm's
  • I still have small ships with large rigs

EVE was a sandbox
CCP cared for their game

AOE DD through a cyno

Sniping was a valid tactic
Eve was for the more advanced player, not the average Wow dude that wanted to get here with 900k XP and cried at CCP's door that he couldn't kill the vet

Carriers were the biggest ship in Eve

We had a cargo bay that actually worked as intended

Nano phoons were awesome

Cruise missiles could actually kill a ceptor

in short. CCP you have been messing up
