GPU utilization of the ship spinning code is...? Really low, right?

you can always leave the spinning mode to let your GPU cool down in CQ ;)

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Because, when docked, some players like looking at their ship and other players like looking at their well dressed avatar.

will the new "do no load station environment" option have a decent still shot.. preffereably of your current ship like before?

ship spinning was all fine and good but I always had station environments turned off which allowed all the function without the spin.

It used less resources... making the program easier to leave on and follow corp chat while working on resource intensive programs on other monitors.

some of us find it immersion breaking to get out of your pod every time you pick up a delivery. Essentially, to quote Hilmar "forcing players into a mandatory single-player Captain’s Quarters experience was a mistake."
Always ... Never ... Forget to check your references.   Peace out Zulu! Hope you land well!

The three remaining Captains Quarters are not coming in this patch but will be arriving as part of the winter expansion. You can read more about what is coming in CCP Zulu's blog.

Community will be publishing an announcement tomorrow with the downtime schedule and full patch notes and we expect this to happen around noon Smile

Epic... failure CCP.

So far you have been unable to deliver the content that was promised in the summer expansion and moving it to the winter expansion. Instead you bring something back that was always the most useless of activities ingame?

But at least Incarna can now join the others eve features, poorly planned and never completed, improvements delayed and later abandoned

They could start delivering what they promised and I never understood the emotional attachment to ship spinning anyway.

it wasn't so much emotional

-It didn't fry lower end systems
-It had the functionality of being able to drag and drop a ship to make it active
-It loaded faster to make quick swap outs or refits
-It had the functionality of having the context menu of the ship available
-It gave the player at-a-glance info about what ship they were flying without having to open the ship hanger to see which one is highlighted

and im not gonna reference the double-click to open cargo cause Alt+C works fine regardless =P

How do you mean "useless"? You have to dock sometimes. And when you do you quickly load a light 3D environment with streamlined (for EVE anyway) interface that allows you to do all your in-dock activities quickly and efficiently. And while you're at it you can admire your ship from all kinds of different angles. Then there's the immersion issue.

If that's 'useless' then what does that make CQ??

wait so if ship spinning is back in 5 days does that mean Scotty the docking manager will be back?

- It did not fry mine
- Never missed the feature.
- It loaded in 5 seconds for me, I could barely notice a delay
- that functionality was never gone
- you mean, aside from ship window and 2 'ship spinning' holograms and a the ship spinning from the balcony?

Also the ship spinning feature is a dead end, while the CQ in it's current form is a prototype, something that could have been great if CCP completed the features, including the multiplayer parts. Now the parts that should be here long ago are delayed even more. The art department and the programmers could not complete the necessary multiplayer aspects of incarna because they were needed to bring the ship spinning back.

Other aspects like new turret graphics and nebulas are certainly also getting hurt by a shift of priorities.
