Total noob blueprint question

Hi all - just want to clear something up. I have a tech 2 blueprint copy lying around. I've roughly added up the cost of materials and it seems I could make this thing profitably. I will try to do more due diligence but need to understand a couple things first before devoting more time.

1. If the bpc can only make 2 copies but description says it can go up to 10, I'm guessing that with a bpc I'm stuck at 2 right? If I want to make up to 10, I need to do research on the blueprint original (which I don't have) ?

2. With the bpc, I can learn skills to reduce the amount of materials I need. That's production efficiency, etc?

Appreciate any direction. In this game a while and hardly made anything ever.

No, you invent more T2 BPC.

See the link above about the max number of runs you can get too.

Essentially the max you can get is 10% of the max runs on the T2 BPO (even if the BPO doesn't exist in-game = "not published"), plus any additional runs from decryptors. If you start with a T1 BPC that has 20% of max runs, then you'll end-up with a T2 BPC that has 20% of the max for the BPC (= 2% of the max runs for the BPO).

Yes. You can also invent with decryptors, if you save more in materials than the cost of the decryptor (example)

The blueprint copy is just that, a copy of the original blueprint.

A blueprint made though invention (generally T2 blueprints) do not carry over the ME/PE of the original but instad have a base ME/PE based on the item type + decryptors. But basically the are normally -4 -4.

You cannot change a BPC ME/PE. Once the copy is made they are set in stone. Same goes with the number of copies left. For example a copy may have 10 max runs, but only 2 runs left. Nothing can be done to increase this number.

Production efficiency will reduce the waste that is generated when setting up the job, but there will always be an amount of waste based on the BPC's ME level. ME can be high enough for zero waste, but you'll almost never get this on a T2 bpc (unless the copy was made from one of the few T2 BPO's still in the game).

Your BPC is a copy from an original blueprint. Copies can never be modified at all. So you are stuck with a 2 run bpc.
However you can reduce wasted building materials if you max out production efficiency to level 5.
At production efficiency skill level 1 you will have 10% waste of materials on that bpc.
At production efficiency skill level 5 you will have zero waste on that bpc.

The ME is the material efficiency of the blueprint itself. That determines the blueprints waste level independent of your production efficiency. On your bpc the me is fixed and can not be modified. You are stuck with what ever it is.

You can not make additional copies or research the bpc in any way.

You need a BPO in order to do research on a BPO or to make copies of the BPO which those copies become limited run bpc's.
