So, at one time the Caldari got a medal for capturing every system in Gallente/Caldari FW space.

At the moment, the Minmatar are in a position where taking every system in Amarr/Minmatar FW space may be a possibility. I (and many of us) are wondering if we will be awarded a medal if we achieve this.

The assumption is that we will. If a medal will not be rewarded, a lot of unnecessary player rage can be avoided by telling us now that a medal is not in the cards. If players expect something and then do not get it ... you know how it is ... you've all been doing EVE for a long time. But, if a medal is not going to happen, and we know now, then "Oh well, no big deal. C'est la vie."

Granted, we might not be successful, but knowing a medal is at the end of the goal, might spur increased effort.

I can't see why they wouldn't. Accomplishing total system dominance now when anyone can plex back in any timezone is a much harder goal than doing so back when whoever had DT dominance could effectively lock out the warzone for the rest.

For the record and putting aside all the vitriol and arguments about mechanics, farming etc, etc, I think you should get a medal. It is an achievement and I'm not sure it would have been something the Amarr militia could have done even with Nulli/Fweddit/Lost Obsession/Moar Tears/Amarr 7th Fleet [insert alliance/corporation that has since left] in our ranks.

I just hope CCP also recognises the remaining 34 members of the Amarr militia that are still trying to stop you. Maybe we should get a free arty trasher as a reminder of all the good times.


p.s. I came to the 34 figure by reducing the number of pilots in militia chat last night by 50% to account for known Minmatar spies and Adolf Ehrnrooth alts.

The medal isn't a medal like corp medals.

The medal should be an item.

The item has buy orders in CONCORD stations for 1 isk.

The medal automatically appears in your cargo when you undock.

If your ship pops with your medal in it you lose it forever.

Oh, and you only get a medal if you're in the top 10% VP since inferno.

1 medal per account.

You don't get a medal if you've ever posted on an alt who isn't in FW.

I support this.

Make the medal an item that gets unlocked in the LP store and can be purchased for 10 mill LP. (and that's at T5)

If our medals were made from pure distilled amarr tears, it would not only be awesome but we'd have way too many medals to go round.

That medal was given back when CCP was still trying to attract players to their new wunderkind: FW, and were themselves participating through storytelling and the FW equivalent of "live events".

Practically none of the hardships of those days, the hardships that justified the medal, are present in today's FarmWars™ and as CCP has utterly eradicated the RPG element in the interim years I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Besides, a medal would not be appropriate. Much more apt symbol would be a statue in Rens showing a slave wielding an assortment of traditional farm equipment (hoe, pitchfork, flail etc.).

FW is is but a shadow of a simulacrum of its former self and since it was basically crap before ..

This or a monument with carebears doing the carebear stare. With hologram effects, it would look great.

Since the CSM minutes indicate that CCP is (or at least wishes to be seen as) interested in iterating FW and expanding on the interactive 'live events' system, a medal seems to be a decent possibility. Still, actual word from CCP would be nice to prevent disappointment later on.

The previous medal was awarded when plexes only spawned at downtime, meaning a handful of people who were awake and logged in at a certain time could determine the course of occupancy. Achieving 'total victory' now is much more of an accomplishment, since it has to be done in the face of actual opposition.
