Because if there's no 50% refinery available in the system, then fewer people will choose to mine in it, and so I can have the ore more for myself, and will have to re-locate my Mackinaw less often.

I have a Charon Freighter, so I can easily move the ore to a system that has a 50% refinery, and where I have perfect refine.
