Your top 5 Fan Vids of All Time

For some reason GD has been full of questions that have me digging up the past... so I thought it might be nice to post some vids for the nubs that got me (and keep me) excited about the game, so they can see what's possible and what this game can be about. So I'm going to post my top 5 and if you think you have a better one feel free to post it here.

#5 - New Eden Spotlight
Just a guy with lots of hair making EvE fanvids about EvE fanvids. The whole playlist is great. Check it out on their YouTube channel here.

#4 - 2 Fast and 2 Furious
I don't know this "Scott" fellow, but he did something kind of neat. He got a frig to go 20,721 km/sec. Here is How To Build The Fastest Ships In EvE Online.

#3 - A Personal Favorite - T'Amber Abuses Your Trust & Inattention
This one wasn't selected for it's intrinsic value... but rather my own personal enjoyment. The original T'Amber has put a lot into the EvE community. He's produced all kinds of websites, hosted some of the biggest lotteries in the game's history, and held some of the wildest player events. He's even run for CSM on multiple occasions, and imho deserves it more than anyone currently on the council. He quits the game all the time, but can never seem to stay away. Yet, while not remotely a Goon ot a Testy, he has pulled of some of the greatest griefing moments in the game. This one is my favorite... a frigate tournament in which he neglected to mention would be held in a particularly dangerous mission's deadspace. Hilarity ensues: 70 INTO A GAS CLOUD

#2 - This Is Exploration
This video you have to download from the EvE Files website... I couldn't find it on youtube... but if you are interested in exploration you have no idea what you are doing until you see this. It's the oldest vid I'm linking tonight... but it's a must-see in my humble view. I'm not going to spoil it with an explanation. This was a lot of work and is a testament to the resourcefulness and determination of some EvE players. Jove Space: A deep Space Odyssey

#1 - A #1 Duke of New York WTF You Are On Another Level: Rooks and Kings
Well, without a doubt one of the scariest groups in EvE has to be The Rooks and Kings. The intensity and intelligence of this corp makes me realize I am still a newb... and watching some of their vids makes me wonder if I could ever get to that level. Maybe I can't. ...but I can mimic. ...or at least attempt to. Ready to feel small again in this big universe? The following vid demonstrates the rare combination of extreme coordination... sharp members, the value of doing your homework, the discipline of tightly coordinated operations, and fearlessly trapesing into unknown mechanics. If there's one video I recommend a new player watch it is this... Rooks and Kings: Clarion Call 3

Good thread. I have to sort through bookmark hell to find some.
One is the dude soloing in the WH in a Pilgrim -- I remember that much.
One from the Club Bear guy...
And a spy that infiltrates a mining corp and messes up on comms.

Clear Skies must be on this list if it is at all serious.

Just as a heads up, the stuff R&K does is a lot more like a martial art demonstration / kata. Its flashy but not very strategically or tactically valuable. There are other small groups ingame which are creative and utilize tactics that are actually valuable in EVE warfare, like Gypsy Band. R&K is a dude doing slow punches and spin kicks into the air.

Talking about Gypsy Band:

The fight when curse residents raped 7 RA titans. One of the coolest records of a fight ever.

I like that one too.

It's wierd that fights like these were important and memorable events not long ago and now they are happenning almost every day. Not sure if it's a good thing. Damn you TiDi, its your fault! Cry

It is awesome to see more and more threads like this.

The old ones teaching the young.

Also, this makes people understand why players act the way they do.
That it is not a personal thing, it is another level of depth in the game.

But new players do not know this yet, and think they are not welcome while the opposite is true.

Maybe there should be a "smack" tutorial....hahaha

Thank you.

Once you think you have it all, you have actually become ignorant towards everything else.

I have to admit, the R&K Narrator in that OP vid link, is almost inhumanly cool under pressure, not a strand of anxiety in his voice even though his whole team is within a whisker of annihilation, he's gotta be banker or something lol

Well yeah, he re-dubs it after the fight, it really annoys me actually. Apart from that I love watching RnK roflstomp people and they do know how to make a video.

Re-dubs it? You mean he adds his comments after the fight? Not sure if I understood you correctly.
It sounds like actual sound footage from the fight to me, obviously not continuous since the video footage itself is 2X speed at least.
