Did you not read the hubris article? If youd like to read about a select few cfc getting butchered read that one. Also as far as I know the site will have as much "opposition" as they are willing to contribute. If you have something to say why not offer to contribute too?

There was also an article about NC.'s success in using Tier 3s to headshot cfc fleets and how the war in the north is changing pace. You seem difficult to please on this one. Dare I say youre being unfair?

Ok extracts from the Hubris article

"My current favorite story about this is the VFK cynogen, a source of constant kills for enemies of GoonSwarm Federation."
So yes it contains a bit about goon stupidity followed immediately by the words
"The losses themselves aren't what's important, because it's pretty easy to replace ships."

On to head shots

"CFC carriers have even fallen victim to Tornado alpha strikes."
Followed by "There are, of course, ways to get around this."

But to me those just sound like well rounded articles covering both sides. If you read on it points out those carriers were not reimbursed. You'll also find the sniping article was written by NC. members so why exactly wouldd they be writing propaganda when the fact is those fleets can be dealt with (with difficulty). The article would be ubalanced if it werent stating the facts.

As to writing articles for that site, I think I have a better chance of looking at my pen and figuring out the mass of the Higgs boson.
Why? How can you sit back and point fingers and at the same time be unwilling to do anything about it?

Unfair possibly a little but the site has taken a side very quickly. There are no mentions of CFC mass slaughters, only small numbered ones.

What mass slaughters? There was a report on the battle in UMI stating both sides took heavy losses pointing out that the cfc is dragging in the us tz. I find it odd that the people we're fighting dont seem to have a problem with the site (and are even actively contributing) while youre happy to sit on the sidelines with little involvement and knowledge of actual occurances and complain. It's almost as if you dont know what you're talking about here.

See the thing is we covered that mass slaughter of 15 -A- supercarriers and their support fleet in K-6, the fact that we're not covering maelstrom welps which are just as significant as 15 supercarrier wrecks and all the accompanying dead tengus means that we're biased, a propaganda site.

I lost a Hurricane last week. Should I submit an article covering the horrific loss?

Would you like to try to get me a writing post there you are welcome to try.

But I know an exercise in futility when I see one.

I can just see a site called TheMittani welcoming me with open arms Lol

But as to the slaughters maybe I was miss informed by other news sites (And by slaughters I mean lower numbers than the CFC killing the most)

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

do you want balanced reporting or balanced facts?

the desire to balance facts brought us great moments like the evolution vs creationism "controversy" - after all everyone knows that there have to be two sides to each story ...

Write an article, a good one. Submit it. If its rejected you can always resubmit to en24. Lol

Right... what fights are these again?

You realise the site is geared towards writing substantial on the movement of the bigger picture as opposed to poxy reports on single actions, right?

P.S. ~80 maels is not really that significant. But if you read other articles theres one that points out the success of Gypsy Band bomber fleets without getting into the nitty gritty of each fight. Part of what makes the site appealing to me is the sweeping narrative as opposed to the tedious regurgitation of events.

Ok I didn't read that on there but I read it else where and it was pretty damn funny but yes you do kind of expect news sites to report it all not just some bits and the maelstroms where a pretty major loss.Smile

Well if you balance a fact it is hardly a fact, like when people say seasonally adjusted.

maybe I'm not clear enough, so let me spell it out:

balanced reporting is "the sky is blue".
balanced facts is giving (in the interest of journalistic impartiality!) equal coverage to "the sky is blue" and "the sky is pink"

"let's make sure that we report on one NCdot victory for ever GSF victory we report on" is balancing facts, "let's try to paint a representative (but necessarily incomplete) picture of this conflict" is balanced reporting.

Some people expect news reporters to make up for the "bias" imposed by reality, many news outlets cater to that demand and sell it as "impartial" reporting.

Please tell me exactly why I should draft an article to cover THE MASS SLAUGHTER of six CFC carriers. How is "Tornadoes gank some carriers" newsworthy? If you can explain that, I'll get writing right now, but you'll have a hard time convincing me!

I realize that EN24 has terribly lowered the bar on what is considered "newsworthy" - I mean goddamn, they published an article about a guy stealing a Moros from some dude's POS in Deklein - but our intent isn't to flood the front page with filler articles.

As far as not reporting our own welps, well, heh! http://themittani.com/news/42xj-anatomy-cfc-loss

Sorry I don't know that battle but you could write one about 42XJ-N brawl
where Goonswarm and associates seem to have lost 64 maelstroms, 133 capsules, 56 drakes, a moros, 2 chimeras, 9 scorpions and 17 scimitars compared to killing 3 canes, 8 zealots, 2 phobos and a few other things.

Now that would make a good read especially if there are more videos involved.

Myself I don't really care about Null sec wars but it is fun to watch things go BOOM!

I just did you must have posted it while I was typing.

Must say much better but some videos would have been nice. Especially from the SB guys perspective.

Edit: Also from a readers POV, I feel I got a better idea of what happened on EvE news 24.

Rather than trying to balance facts how about you just report them like you did in this case of 42xJ-N, it happened it wasn't some guy blowing up a carrier but a big pile of nasty corpses.

Rather than saying this, that or the other about journalism how about you just report it when piles of People go BOOM, no matter what side they are on. Yes the commentary will be biased by who ever saw it but we the readers like to watch everyone go BOOM.

If I wanted scientific news I would read a scientific journal, for economics I read the economist, for game news I want to go to a game site and hear about other people getting ripped off, blown up or running like chickens. If you want to be a news site not a propaganda machine you need to realize that like a restaurant you must give the customers what they want not what you want.

Yeah I read that one too and as I said I feel I was better informed by EvE News 24, I can't say if it was biased, I wasn't there after all.
I just look at the kill logs and watch the videos after giving the story a quick scan.

I don't know, I don't find myself walking into three-star restaurants asking for a cheeseburger. EN24 is the McDonalds to our Per Se, you see.
