Sounds like your problem is similar to mine? https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&find=unread&t=112097

I haven't gotten to 'socket closed', but then I haven't waited an hour either. Bump for the poor training queue!

I have been having the same problem for over a week now. The length of time varies between crashes (less than 1 minute to 6 hours). Tonight I cant even get into space before it crashes! why is this happening? Ive tried clearing the cache, disabling TCP 6.0 (found a post a while back that said that that can help) but no joy. Any suggestions?

I'm having the same issue. It started when i clicked the undock button from a station and nothing happened, i clicked it a few more times, then the socked closed dialog box opened. Now i cant even start the launcher, it says it cant connect.

I'm having the same issue. Sometimes it will work fine for a while then just stop responding and give me a socket closed error. Other times it happens as soon as I'm in space. :(

Same. Happened to me last night. Couldn't log into game, couldn't even connect to the eve online website. Rebooted computer. Same thing. First time it happened, so I thought everything was down, and went to bed. Lost millions because it crashed right as I was beginning to salveage/loot about 8 sleeper sites, I had just completed. Rather pissed.

You guys should check your Anti-Virus (not sure the right word in English but the soft who kill Virus :P) and check your Firewall. Eve online Rights have been automatically changed for me after inferno.

Now i can play like without problem

Had this problem in 2009 and had it for weeks and CCP done jack to help me.

New router, new ISP, new phone line and every cable replaced...fixed it.

I get the socket closed error, I'm using a wireless connection - every time I try to log in with EVE I loose my wireless connection and it says "SOCKET WAS CLOSED". If I don't try to log in with EVE, I have no problem with my internet and I am free to browse and post about things in the forums here. I have no idea what to do and I'm very frustrated. :(

Same here, I got dc'ed on saturday, couldn't even connect via my firefox to any eve-related official site. Since yesterday I have permament socket closed issues, which definetely are related to my WLAN. If I shut it down in the router menu I can play EVE fine but with WLAN turned on I immediately get issues. I'm using a Vodafone easybox 802, newest firmware etc. and my PC is connected via LAN. Everything else is running fine, no problems at all!

Strange that turning on the WLAN is supposed to create such a package loss, I don't even use the WLAN but my roommate is. I can't just turn it down permanenty, there has to be solution for this.
