Faction Warfare and Enemy Standings

I recently joined Gallente FW as a way to keep myself entertained for awhile (highsec pvp got the nerfbat, and nullsec bored me to almost unsubbing Cry)

Sooner or later though, I'm going to get bored and will want to find something else to do.... I have no idea what it may be, but it may very well take me to Caldari space in the future.

Before I joined I was assured by someone that as long as I didn't kill any NPCs, I could have all the pew pew I wanted and just speed tank plexes to get LP to fund my PvP... and up until now its worked beautifully. I would run a few plexes, sell a few faction frigs, and buy cheap T1 frigs and such to PvP in. Then came the promotion, and the loss of Caldari standing.....

I'm currently sitting at -0.46 (up from -0.20) just from the first promotion. (And from what I understand, faction standing is insane to build back up) I refuse to be blocked from certain areas.... so am I going to have to leave faction warfare, or is there some way to repair / stop it from dropping?

If you don't regard the Caldari as your enemy to point where you plan to never comfortably inhabit their highsec, then don't war against them?

If you're only in FW to keep yourself entertained with pvp, then don't capture plexes at all: for you, FW will just be a way for you to attack a lot of people in lowsec without having to grind your sec status back up, later on. As you've noticed, the Federal Defense Union will reward your efforts, you'll get very large (and increasingly large) faction boosts as you receive promotions, and these will lead to negative derived standings from your enemy.

The same thing happens if you do normal missions. You'll get storylines, and when you do those you'll get derived faction hits from the enemy. It's not enough to avoiding non-derived faction hits that you get from destroying enemy ships and structures. There are lots of non-commital people who are just terrified at the prospect of one day facing some minor inconveniences in half of highsec, and their solution is to load up on daily inconveniences that they'll deal with in all of NPC space, high, low, and null. Search for "faction standing repair plan". They have a lot of tools.

Anyway, all of this is repairable. Social and Diplomacy are rank 1 skills. You are never slamming in your face in EVE - not NPC doors, anyway. But bear in mind that you are throwing away some real conveniences that you'd get from high Gallente and Minmatar standing.

If you're worried about damaging your faction standing with the Caldari, build up an alt an enroll him in faction war as well. When you want to run plexes for isk, let him do the job. When you're out looking for pew, use the account you're worried about. If you have the ability to dual-box, you can do both at the same time making LP and getting your pew on while not messing up your main's standing with the Caldari.

You can make enough LP through plexing with the alt to fund his subscription in-game and then have some to spare.

you can still enter caldari space after quitting militia even you take all promotions.

Is there a way to reject your promotions? What?
