Since when is the ability to pull your skills from the API a 'secondary' feature.

It's a fitting tool first, character SP management is a secondary feature to that.

If it helps, someone in the duplicate thread in EVE general claims to have contacted G and states he is currently working on it.

Crosspost from the other thread:

I am blissfully using the latest versions of both EveMon and EFT at the moment with no problems. I use a new custom API key for EveMon and I use an old-fashioned API key for EFT.

For the old-fashioned API key, I go through here: Old API Keys
This old website still works (for now) and I can even generate new old-fashioned keys.

For the new API keys, I go through here: New API Keys

I've been wondering what all the hubbub is about. Perhaps it's because they don't have the URL for the old-fashioned keys?

Shame you decided to waste those on this forum complaining about how a free program, that still works, now requires a bit more of each of those.

And it blows my ******* mind that people will choose a program that no longer functions as intended over one that does.

To each their own.

What blows my mind is people that do not understand the difference between a feature of a progrom not being up to date and an entire program no longer functioning...

I understand it quite well, even pointed out that it "no longer functions as intended", not "no longer functions".

EFT is a good program. No, its a great program. I just honestly think the easiest thing to do would be use PYFA until the new EFT comes out.

The reason I said what I said is because of the nature of the program. Its intent is to make calculations for you, thereby saving you time. When it starts to cost you time, it becomes less effective.

edit, saw the cross post.

However, seeing that it DOES work with the old API, there is no reason for EITHER of us to fret. We can all choose the program we want and lose no time.

I know for me personally, I have no issue using the old API key for EFT for now, that's what I'm currently happily doing. The one thing I worry about, and the reason that I'm keeping an eye on this thread, is that I am hoping that the new version of EFT comes out before they stop supporting the old API system.

As long as the old API system is still accessible, there's no issues at all. And as long as a new-API-compatible EFT comes out before the old APIs stop working, it's all good.

I can't find anywhere else to post this suggestion, so here's hoping Gripen reads this.

Would it be possible to add a column showing "strength" of different modules? I'm thinking specifically of EWAR. I would love to see the following information in the fit without having to pop the info window on the module itself:

ECM strength (or even estimated jam chance - see below)
Tracking disruptor effectiveness
Target painter effectiveness
Sensor dampener effectiveness
Scan probe base strength or max deviation

For ECM, you might even be able to show single-cycle, single-module jam chance against another fit, or against general classes of ships. Similar to how the scan resolution will show lock-time against preset ships. The presets would be imperfect, but still useful (just like the signature radius presets for the lock time under scan resolution are estimates, but still useful).

Last, I'd like to request that projected effects be scriptable. As an example, for a remote sensor booster under "projected effects," it'd be nice to be able to load a range or scan resolution script into the effect.

Thanks in advance, keep up the great work.

These are already possible, fit up both ships you want to use and then drag the EW module from the ship using it into the "projected effects" field of the target ship and you'll get the jam chance. Similarly, fit a RSB/tracking link with a scrip on a ship with a script and drag it to projected effects to get module applied in a scripted form, and for mods that can be bonused (like tracking links from Scimi/Oneiros), it includes that strength boost too.

This already works AFAIK. You can't just drag the module in from the modules list, but if you fit the module with the script onto a hull (the one that will be boosting you for instance) and then drag it into your projected effects from the fitted one on the ship, it gives you the bonus taking the script into account.

Also, +1 for Lutz Major, you beat me to it, lol.

It also takes ship bonuses into account when using the method above. Like when using a cruor to web something or a falcon to jam something.

When using ECM drone or modules on the projected effects it will show a % on the target ship

Clearly I just didn't understand the full utility of projected effects. Specifically, I was dragging modules from the module pane for the remote sensor booster, and never actually tried dragging an ECM module.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Though I would still like to see ECM strength as a column, this helps a lot.
