I hope at some point they open up jove space , and that it would be filled with extremeley hard to find sites in which you could gather some info on the fate of the jovians and maybe even reverse engineer some artifacts to create super-powerful modules.

But that's just me day-dreaming.. Sad

We only have stations and outposts in the Polaris system, which does not have any gates to the rest of the Universe, including Jove space.

Being a novice explorer, I am interested in gaining access to Jove Space. I've tried petitions...they didnt think it was the place for such queries...lol. Others claim to have visited EVERY system in EVE, but I doubt it since there are no gates into Jove Regions. And it would seem a GM would have to light up a cyno anyhow. Anyone who has knowledge on achieving this DAUNTING goal, please post a solution...thanks

I am thrilled by the energetic responses I have received thus far and am very grateful to ALL of you. I would never have guessed that I was not alone in my curiosity about the Jove's. They seem so distant and enigmatic. As a novice explorer, I would welcome ANY and ALL suggestions for sights and sites to behold...lol. And again, I humbly thank each and every one of you for your consideration.

Here's a YouTube vid of the Jove ships. My money is on us getting the Genosis (SOCT Cruiser) for EvE's 10th anniversary which is coming up soon.

If you want to pull up the models for the jove ships in game, you can open the first link in my signature below in your in-game browser. They link to showinfo, which will pull up the model and the stats for all of their ships in game.

wrong it was handed out already

What? Got link or info? This smells of trolololol...

One of the frigate models was used for the Apotheosis, and a gm or two have the cruiser, but the cruiser was never handed out to players.

Yah... pretty sure this is the case ^

The Gnosis is something else entirely. It was only recently given that name (formerly "SOCT Cruiser") and has not been balanced against the rest of the eve ships yet. While it's showinfo link does pull up the cruiser in-game, it cannot be linked in chat channels or queried through any means I'm aware of in game outside of a 3rd party DB dump or showinfo list like mine. Typically that indicates that the ship is not on Tranquility in any meaningful way (save devhax but who knows about that). The Devs are up to something "big" for the 10th anniversary... and as the Apotheosis (based on the SOCT 1) was given out for the 5th it stands to reason to me that the Gnosis would be given out or somehow involved in the 10th. I know a lot of rare ship owners and various collectors and no one has breathed a word about the Genosis being in player hands yet.

Oh, really? It has a real name and is searchable in-game now? Nice. The SOCT Cruiser is, by far, my favorite ship model. Even moreso than the eidolon.

Ah thanks. I think I heard too many new things at once, and got confused.

I say we leave the joves alone. They are the only people not complaining about Titan blobs or how bad small pvp is. That is a rare commodity and we should put them in a zoo for it. (they are probably just really rich though)

Yah I'm a big fan of the SOCT line. There's a frig called SOCT2 that I'd really like to see introduced as a sort of limited run helos with maybe a slight bump to scanning... or maybe as an universal EW frig w/ all race bonuses or something. I don't know how ships like the Wraith could be integrated into eve (all race assault ship?) but those SOCT ships on a limited run as a gift to subscribers? There would be few complaints I think. They would be that one golden ship everyone gets to touch. You get it in your hanger and you can trade it for 10 of something else or just run it into the ground. Mine goes into the ground. Then I pay a redonkulous amount for 10 more. This next year of eve could be the best we've seen to date (crimewatch and Lego POS w/ jump drives)... It's a good time to be a capsuleer.

/edit: As an inactive Marine, I approve of your name.

There's a few capsuleers w/ a secret DL clone in normal Jove space. They say there are no NPCs and nothing on the market... and that it's just empty... empty... lonely space. I don't know of anyone who has been to the Polaris system. That's super top secret squirrel stuff... Devs only. It's fun to look around the map at unconnected systems. There are one or two outside of polaris.

And I think I am the first to post this since the new forums went online... but just for the record, by biggest hero in EvE was the guy who put this video together: Jove Space: A deep Space Odyssey

To date... this was the best eve fan vid ever produced. T'Amber's Poison Cloud Frig Event was a close second though....

Given the current evidence available there appears to be strong historical and sociological connections between the Jovian and Sleeper societies. The attempts to find a cure for the lethal Jovian Disease forced a separation of the two groups, where the Sleepers used their expertise in virtual worlds to prolong the grave state of depression caused by the disease. To find a permanent cure, the Sleepers went on a quest to reconstruct their corrupted DNA; the cause of the disease. For this they needed unmodified DNA from other ethnic groups which eventually lead to the eradication of the Yan Jung Nation. Unsuccessful in solving the DNA mystery with specimens from New Eden alone, the Sleepers constructed huge Motherships and star gates to take them far beyond New Eden into w-space. There they continued their DNA research on the Talocans, a race untainted by the massive radiation emitted by the collapse of the EVE Gate. Seemingly, this research was either unfruitful or is still ongoing thereby making the final fate of the Sleepers unknown.

The spring expansion 2009 "Apocrypha" introduced Sleepers as inhabitants of the newly introduced Wormhole space, though at this point all interactions with them appear to be with drones rather than manned vehicles, leaving the ultimate fate of the race unknown

It is said that this wormhole is fiercely defended by sleep drones which make it virtually impossible for any capsuleer to pass through.

Ha! I heard that too. The stuff myths are made of.

By the way, since we're already talking, do you want to buy a rifter? I've got the cheapest rifters in Metropolis. If you can find a cheaper rifter, buy it!

I filter the ingame map to 'available agents' and there's a few spots of green in Jove space.
I can't set destination of course.
Started a thread about it and got the usual knowledgeable sounding content free guff from people who ruin games by knowing everything.

Hope the Jove never appear or become accessible, knowledge is to curiosity what the ocean is to a candle.

Would be a nice special event.

JOVE attacks 0.0, 1 day only folks, wonderful prizes to be won. Just step over the corpses to enter Lol

Give the blobs a good run, give them 1 off great modules and implants but make the Jove like they are in the lore.

From my understanding of Eve lore, Jove ships are so powerful that a handful of them could destroy an entire fleet with ease. There is a good reason why Jovian ships aren't actually in the game, and why they shouldn't be.

Jovians should and always remain the mysterious race.

Thats why I said it would give blobs a good run. Yeah the jovians are good as a mysterious race but we really need more lore on the whole atm.

There are other ancient and mostly forgotten about races in Eve that could be used. Look at Sleepers for example, before WH noone knew who they where, and still somewhat don't. I'm all for expanding the lore and adding some nice changes, but I don't believe going Jove is the way to go.

Also "a good run" is a understatement on how difficult it would be to destroy a Jovian ship. Impossible would be a better term I would use.
