cant conect to the game

I updated the game and logged in fine. about 10 min later the socked closed. Server still says online however the log in screen says the server status is unknown. My Euro friends are having no problems. I have used the Eve repair tool and cleared the catch.

The connection failed message is this:

Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server is not running, or the server address or port number was wrong.


this was from the patch on the 8th.. none of the new patches have helped out.

did not know if i was the only lucky one.

I am having the exact same issue. And I notice no one who is posting about this exact same issue is getting any help from support.

this is the problem I'm also getting since I reinstalled, trying to fix a different issue. I've submitted a petition but nothing has yet came from it.

Try this it work for me "\CCP\EVE\bin\exefile.exe " the screen may be black for a secs but it work.

I just had a rash of socket closed for the first time ever this afternoon. Worse than that, after the last one the launcher won't fire, and I have tried the repair tool and it won't launch either. I am currently running a scan, will roll back the last windows updates (this morning) if I can, then I guess its time to start downloading the client. Someone said I could just copy the whole game directory then launch the rrpair tool from that - is this viable?

Exact same problem here with the launcher seeming to be fine but then when I get to the login screen, it says server status is "unknown" and I can't connect. Submitted petition today. Been playing for 7 years, last 4 on this computer, never had a problem like this before. Cleared cache, settings, even deleted the entire client and downloaded and reinstalled it. Nothing helped.

I now have to ask this to everyone here: do you have any firewalls in addition to the standard windows firewall? if so, check those firewalls. My trouble really began when I reinstalled into a different directory, so my secondary firewall shat a brick when Evefile tried to connect to the internet.
