People know about the CSM, they just don't care as it doesnt have any real power or actually do anything other than to communicate player sentiment to CCP. I don't know where you get this idea that somehow CSM is supposed to produce weekly, or even monthly, results. Literally the only reason the CSM was created was as a way for the player base to communicate with CCP, therefore the effectiveness of the council is entirely at the whims of CCP and the political skills fo the CSM representatives.

It also played a PR role as "look guys, we care about what you think, honest".

Then again, har har ....

Actually the CSM was created as a PR tool for CCP.

As to the care factor, said it before, I am not talking about us loud mouths who are always here on the forums.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

Well that would simplify matters, so as you are the whole player base and we are figments of you imagination, I presume you will be voting for your self and occupying all the seats on next year's CSM Lol

Nice Voter Suppression laws you came up with, you'd make a good Republican.

Whats next? No poors voting? No minmatar voting? If you had your way 100 years of the civil rights movement would be flushed down the drain!

No, just no old unused alts voting. Oh I do love the drama though, 100 years of civil rights, next shock and awe tactic?

No one who doesn't support him voting.

Next up, by popular consensus, all who don't support him to get ~free~ reeducation into the right way of thinking.

No but we should at least make sure everyone not only knows that the CSM exists but what it is actually for. Then they can ignore it.

Anyway why would you care if vote rigging cost three times as much?

You either play this game at which point this would not effect you or you want to rig votes at which point you should pay for the privilege.

The Mittani served as a link between players and the CSM, as its most visible and polarizing member. When he stepped down, no one stepped up to fill those shoes - few really can, to be honest. The CSM seems weak and distant mostly because of his resignation.

Such a pity he put himself in the position of having to step down. That was really a dumb move if there's one.

What are they for?

They weren't shown space barbies.

They weren't shown fail UI.

Seems like they actually exist to deflect blame.

I voted, don't get me wrong, but CCP doesn't give two ***** what they think.

Prett much. CCP does what the hell they want and pretend they care what the CSM says lol

The CSM was a knee-jerk response to the T20 thing and the player uproar over that. Their original charter was to go to CCP and play watchdog to make sure they werent cheating again

----lol

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

Part of that I feel is due to the fact it is only 16-18% of the EvE accounts Vote. When you look at as the CSM is elected by a small minority of the game can you blame CCP for thinking that what the CSM is saying is irrelevant?
When you add onto this the large block voters you really minimize the CSM. This is one of the reasons I would like the CSM to be better known and more engaged to the whole EvE community, so when they actually go "Thats Crap" CCP is more likely to believe them.

Whatever you might think of the CSM, it's true they don't get the exposure they need. I discovered them almost by accident when I started reading the forums. And I discovered the forums by accident.

That said, CCP's only role should be to announce their existence. Anything beyond that is up to the CSM themselves. If you follow their blogs, tweets, and other media, most of them are actually quite active. The problem is, as mentioned, there's no way of knowing this without hunting the information down yourself.

A website created and maintained by the CSM where they post their thoughts, gather feedback, and document their efforts would go a long way, I think.

They canceled out 10,000 votes.

This idea that they would have shown the CSM the terrible UI had more people voted is silly. The idea that they would have delayed it until it was decent is even sillier. and i don't know that sillier is even a word.
