Alchemy - trying to understand it.

I've been looking at the alchemy reactions and trying to understand how it all works but much of the information available is contradictory. So I'm hoping that people with actual first-hand experience can answer some questions:

1) Is the cycle length a standard "tick" - i.e one batch of unrefined product produced from 100x input materials per hour ? (I had heard that it's once every two hours).

2)The older reactions refine to 40x units of the simple reaction and 80 of the other input material?

3) Unrefined fluxed condensates and Unrefined neo mercurite refine to just 40x units of fluxed condenstates and 10x units of neo mercuite respectively? (seems odd that these two materials are the exception)

4) The new Unrefined reactions only refine to 20x simple reaction product and 90x of the other input material?

Any help would be much appreciated - I'm not asking for profitability advice ect - just confirmation of the mechanics.

1. yes, but depending on whether or not it plays nice, it might take 2 ticks for the first batch to complete.
i.e. tick 1 --> (nothing happens) ; tick 2 --> storage to reactor; tick 3 on --> reactor outputs to storage 2, pulls raw materials from storage 1.

2-4 ... just look at the refining output ... (I don't do alchemy, so best I could show is the evelopedia articles)

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia
