I did a quick seach of the forums and did not find any info as to any, if at all, reimbursment to the now usless cargo rigs on my Hulk and Mack. Any tips or am I just out of a couple hundred mil ?

Thanks

They've never bothered reimbursing me when they made T2 rigs on my PVP ships useless. So no.

As long as they didn't stop working, they aren't useless. Just more like you don't need them anymore. Unless you want to carry more crystals.

I may not like you or your point of view but you have a right to voice it.

Out of interest, what would folks recommend rigging on a Hulk now?

Ice cycle time, Merx yield, or tank most likely.

Tough choice, it would seem it all depends how you intend to use it, ie. solo vs dual box etc.

The cargo rigs still work, so no, you don't get money back.

And cargo-maxed Hulks are an abomination, so if you have to destroy the mods consider the ISK loss a fine for a lousy fit.

The cargo rigs gave my alt time to transport two jumps away and back. Was never part of a big mining op.

Tank, if you're in low/null sec.

In hisec, mining drone augment if you run mining drones. You may need to rig a processor overclocker to fit a third MLU II if your skills aren't high enough.

Cargo-maxing a mining barge is always a bad idea. Don't do it.

[EDIT] Hulks only have 2 lows, so you can't fit a third MLU II in the lows. Duh. Still, a Hulk with 2 MLU II"s in the lows will outmine a Mack with 3, so there's that.

Unless they come up with an ore bay expander it will never happen (not that I would ever use them). At the time, for me, it (cargo rigs) was my best option.

Thanks for all the replies !

If you're not fitting tank related rigs, you are still in a gankable Hulk.

Even if you are fitting tanking-related rigs any hulk is still subject to ganking. It might make it less profitable and dissuade some of the less resilient gankers (or the ones with fewer friends/associate), but it by no means means you aren't gankable if you fit them. The top "omni" EHP on a hulk is only around, roughly, 44k, and that requires someone with a T2 harmonizing link and the siege warfare implant along with T2 rigs on the hulk. It could get a little higher, but I don't see someone using a vulture or tengu over an orca for shield bonuses in a mining op. A more realistic EHP value is 38.5k which is still better than a lot of the "25k EHP" builds pre-1.2, but it's still gankable.

put it up on contract for all the people whining about not having enough crystal space in their hulks.

There have been many changes over the years negating some rigs vs others. Why is it miners are the first I've heard whine about wanting some sort of reimbursement?

So you guys get a buff to mining barges and now you want reimbursement too?

You can move Ore in space from your Ore Hold to your Cargo Hold.

I get something like 400-500m3 of extra Ore per haul that way.

Space. It seems to go on and on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you.

This new ore hold thing has led to me getting frustrated and throwing shield rigs on.

After experimenting with mining drone rigs, I still went with shield rigs.

dude, sell it on contract. just set the tag to "now with 38% more space!" (or whatever the total net change is). it's factually accurate, you just aren't calling out that the bonus is just on the cargo bay, not on the total.

this IS eve, after all.
