Wow! Amazing compositing + editing skills here.

Did you render some of the scenes in an external engine using the in game models? I don't see how you could have done stuff like the Atron crashing through the Maelstrom's wings, Hyperion breaking in two etc. using the in-game perspective.

Really taken aback by this, well done and deserves a lot more views.

The smoke and fire effects are, regretibly, unrealistic...but they are freaking cool, so automatic win. The laser rifter/nado/pest thing is a bit unusual, but then again ships aren't just dissapearing with a magical wreck apearing in there place ether, so win again. A fleet of capsuleer/concord/pirate/jove ships is a nice twist near the end as well. Overall, this and the dominion trailer are among the top vids in my collection.

Visually it is very impressive, but I would have prefered if it was entierely made with Ingame footage.

Also, the music is too loud compared to the voice over, I didn't really get what the video was about.

It is my opinion that Alley Kat has just enough pompous criticism for the OP that he should put together his own effort and post it for the world to see. Clearly he is a cinematic genius just itching for an opportunity to demonstrate his 1337 skills.

I challenge you to produce something as epic as this. ;)

Fine - I'll go on a 3D training course just to appease you, shall I?Roll

If you or anyone else enjoyed watching this vid, then that is the impotant thing - not my opinion, or rather, the opinion of someone conflicting with someone else.

Just because my opinion 'technically impressive, cinematically boring' doesn't match the majority, it doesn't mean I should get attacked for it.

It is impressive, very impressive, that was never a question, but at it's core is just polygons with a camera rotating and nothing tangible other than that.

I strongly suspect the creator (which is not the OP, btw) wished to experiment with particles and smoke/fire effects in 3D Max and chose to do this with EVE models, and in doing so use it as part of a demo of their skills.

If the intention was that, they suceeded in creating something very impressive; if their intention was to create something cinematic that made a connection with the viewer/audience, they failed in my most humbliest of opinions.

Sorry if my opinion(s) raise doubts about your own perceptions Akanamon, but I think most people will genuinely believe me when I say I am not attacking anyone, and if someone does not agree with me, I'm not going to have a tantrum about it, I'll simply respect their opinion and move on - unless it's open to debate.

This is not open to debate, as the creator of this vid didn't have the fortitude to post this vid themselves and open the floor for discussion - if they did I'd pitch in and give constructive feedback, which any artistic creator will find more interesting than the 'omfg u rock' comments.

They're nice, but the interesting comments are always the more critical ones - don't you think?

I'm a grown up. I was, of course, poking fun at the pomposity of your post and offering a level of criticism similar to the level of criticism that you leveled at the OP. The parallel, I thought, was obvious. Clearly that was not the case.

I was not offended, nor was I challenging you to a back alley fight. You are, of course, entitled to your opinion.

Kudos on the wordplay, intentional or not, it is always a pleasure to read.
