You decided to take the risk of getting stabbed over an insured laptop, so you could play a game online?

I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

I'm now reminded of that stab victim who was quoted saying "What are you gonna do, stab, me?".

A massive thankyou to all of you for making the loss of my laptop not an option, am fine now dispite having given up nothing Pirate. It's funny how this game creeps into your mind in places you'd never expect, even in such a suddenly stressful situation i remember thinking of eve and how in a wierd way it felt almost normal for people to drive up and try to take my stuff Lol Also dispite the laptop being insured it was thoughts of eve not work that kept my bag on my back throughout Twisted

Ok. You live in the UK. You have socialized medicine. Go tell a shrink that you valued playing a computer game more than your life.

While you're waiting up to 18 weeks to get an appointment with a shrink, write to your PM that the UK's personal weapon laws are becoming a detriment to the citizenry and need a good looking at. Of course, your PM may instead pen a bill to increase the police budget instead, and since your live in a crappy neighborhood, you'll never see any of that extra police protection.

And people seriously wonder why Amis are considered the laughing-stock of the human race vOv...?

Stop, Stoic, please: Before you do anything else even more stupid...Roll

Sounds like he avoided a gank, to me? (Unless I misread something.)

OP should invest in a CovOps cloak, though.

Next time give them your bag. Rather have you with us.. Quite sure CCP would like to retain your subscription as well.

Reverse your logic , Let's say you were stabbed and ended up in the hospital. Would you have blamed the eve community for being stabbed? No possession you own is worth dieing for.

Reopen the EVE gate so we can invade Serenity. Goons can go first.

actually it's Glock 9mm. A 9mm Glock would be quite a bit less scary imo.

if the option to run is available take it. Only idiots consider running away 'cowardice.'

Failing the first option you should probably have given them your stuff.

you can get another laptop, you dont get another life.

so to quote Top Gun:

"The encounter was a victory, but we

show it as an example of what not to do."

Lol all the yanks on here saying stuff along the lines of 'omg give them your bag next time, you could have died'

Fortunately, in most of the UK resistance does not = death.

(I do understand you constitutionally need to have guns allowed in the USA to stop us Brits/Euros taking the country back, i know i'd be straight over with my baker rifle if they ever got made illegal there)

Most of our roaming crackheads/chavs/pikeys are armed with little more than a miniature spirit bottle with the bottom smashed out for smoking their crack, and possibly some needles. There are big city exceptions of course (and the north lol), but this dude was wandering around the southern countryside.

I'd recommend over-heating your low-slots and giving them a good hard kick to the 'primary' and then warp to a SS. Worse case scenario you take a kick-in, but in my experience you'll prob get that regardless of your actions if the person is that shade of crack crazy.

The OP is clearly just happy that dealing with the 'hive of scum and villiany' that is eve everyday gave him the balls to stand up for himself for once. I realise that most of the inhabitants of this game prob spent most of their childhood upside-down in a locker with a wedgy and this is an unfamiliar concept.

Alabama, it's like Norfolk but without the webbed toes.

I would've given them the laptop. Most of the time the crap they want is easily replaced and not worth risking your life over. Then again it's not guaranteed you'll be walking away even if you did give it them.

Never fight a knife. Always run, with or without your possessions. Guns are a different story but I'm just glad they aren't so readily available to petty criminals here.

E: A good friend of my cousin got knifed to death up town a few weeks back. So yea, don't be ******* stupid.

E2: Not to sound like Im condemning what you did. Sounds like you did a very good job of getting away in one piece and with your laptop in hand. But you were a little vague; did you leg it or did you make a stand?
