EDIT: The beta has ended. Refunds have been issued, and the site is closed for the time being.

Hi guys. I've been working for the past few weeks on a new eve raffle system shipblitz.com , and I'm just about ready to get it off the ground. However, since I don't have a trusted name for myself, this is a challenge. To compensate, I am doing the following two things to get testing started:

  1. 1M isk for each the first 20 people to reply here that promise to help test (honesty system guys)
  2. A promotional Moa (or 7.5M isk) raffle with 6 tickets, 0.5M isk per ticket. (you do the math). One promotional raffle starts immediately.

Since I'm the system is relatively untested, and I don't have a name for myself, I've only enabled 6 ticket raffles for Tech 1 cruisers. Once testing is done I plan on providing raffles for every highsec-salable ship in the game.

It's been an interesting development process and I'd be happy to answer any questions you have Smile. Let me know in this thread (or in game) if you have any technical problems, or suggestions. (I was trying to figure out which forum is correct, but I think this one is idea for beta testing since this is an API+IGB using app).

F.A.Q.:
Q: Are real isk being used in testing
A: provided nothing breaks, you'll be spending real isk (mine for starters)

Q: Are we winning real prizes in testing
A: Yes

Q: Are you a scammer
A: No. I'd be a **** poor scammer putting this much work into a site to take a few million isk, but I don't expect trust. I plan on earning it as best I can.

Getting Started

  • Sign up at http://shipblitz.com/signup.php using your character's name.
  • Add Funds by sending money to our corp: (redacted: the beta has ended)
  • Wait for the Next Deposit (see the timer in the header)
  • Refresh the page and you should see your Funds updated
  • Create a new raffle (available if there are less than 5 running already), or buy tickets in existing ones
  • When all of a raffle's tickets have been bought, a winner is picked at random.
  • If you have won, you may select a payout type between:
  • - Ship (Delivered via Contract on Jita IV Moon IV - Caldari Navy Assembly Plant)
  • - Cash (in game Isk)
  • - Funds (credit for this site)

Payouts

  • Accounts may recieve a payout of their account's funds to their eve account once per week. A 5% fee is charged for the transaction (to stop people from gaming the 5% bonus that you recieve for paying out into fund instead of in eve isk). To do this, use the relevant section under [Funds].
  • The once-per-week limit exists to prevent people from flooding the system with small requests, so that we can ensure prompt payouts.

Referrals

  • You can earn a 5% commission on every isk spent on tickets by people you recruit!
  • The isk are deposited to your funds immediately, and may be either used on this site, or paid out using the above mentioned payout option.

Rules

  • Upon winning, you may select your choice of the Ship and an isk prize in game, or credit on ShipBlitz
  • If funds don't show up on your account after two deposit intervals, send Amikin a message in game (or in this thread)
  • If there is an error on the site that causes you to lose funds, send Amikin a message explaining your problem.
  • We reserve the right to pay out the isk reward instead of a ship at our discretion (for example if the ship isn't available to us)
  • Ship and Isk payouts typically occur once per day. Payout to Funds is instant.
  • You can only buy one Special Raffle ticket per Special Raffle (these are promotions that have tickets whose total value is far
  • lower than the cost of the prize!).
  • Normal raffles allow you to buy as many tickets as you want.

Edit: rhubarb_9 on Reddit pointed out that requiring IGB trust will sketch people out. I have removed it.

3 signups and 2 bids so far- and some great suggestions. I now no longer char CSPA for messages, and have fixed a bug with the display of special blitzes in the "My Blitzes" page.

One area that can use testing is the referral system. You send someone a referral link (available in the "Help/About" page when you're logged in) and if they sign up, your account gets credited 5% of every ticket they buy. (I could probably make that more prominent- maybe a bar across the top of the main page promoting it).

Edit: 4/6 tickets bought, 6 people signed up(although 2 have yet to do anything). The referral system works fine, and now shows you your referrer's name when you're signing up.

So its basically a Blink clone?

Yes you may say competition is good. But generally when that occurs the competing service should be be as good or better. What I see before me if a horrible looking site, that would take a day or 2 to make.

I mean no offence, I just feel like 'meh, so what?'

Next generation of lottery tracker coming soon! http://evelotterytracker.com/

Please like my post if it has helped you :)

Funny you should say that. It's an honest assessment and that's basically the reaction I'm getting from most people. As a matter of fact it did take 2 partial days to make :) It was a fun project, but I've been unable to get the kind of engagement that I'd hoped for. Somer just has too much of a market lead, and has had months to refine his UI, and build an excellent reputation.

Additionally I've been having trouble finding decent channels to advertise. Yes, I could spend a few more days making it look nice, and keep on trying to drum up users, but I really don't have enough time at the moment. I was a little discouraged to see that the new forum's sell orders rules prevent me from advertising this product's launch. It would be ideal, and was what others had done in the past with their sites. Ah well, c'est la vie.

It was my hope that it the affiliate system would become popular, it's fairly generous, but as of yet nobody has bit (aside from testers here).

Edit: Well, I'm giving it a shot anyway :) The site works fine, a bunch of people have used it, and I'm going to keep trucking.

Thank you all for your help. I am sad to say that the beta has ended and at present I am not going to continue operation of ShipBlitz. It may return in the future, but until then the site is closed. I have decided to focus on other EVE projects at the moment.

The beta had a decent run: 7 raffles created, 26 users signed up, about half deposited money and tried the game. Three winners: two special raffles, and one normal one).

  • All outstanding bids were refunded to the player's shipblitz account (raffles that still had bidders).
  • All winners who had not chosen their prize were sent
  • All outstanding account balances were tallied up and refunded.

Refunds (and one Payout): http://i.imgur.com/ptuum.png

Let me know if I screwed up and somehow you're still out money, but that should be by all accounts settled. Hopefully everyone is happy and will continue to work with me in future endeavors.
