Tricks of the Ice Fairy?

I've been noticing some strange things while I'm ice mining every now and then, as if some little prankster is introducing a little randomness into my cycle calculations.

Sometimes (I mine while working in the office), I'll look up to find an odd number of ice blocks in my hold. This is strange because I always start both lasers at the same time. From then on the count goes up by 2 as usual, 'till i get max capacity message, with a truly full ore hold.
I'm always wondering how this extra block comes to be, as my ship never moves and the cycles of the harvesters are still in sync.

Other times, more rarely, I'll look up to find that my lasers, sometimes two, sometimes one, have simply failed to reactivate. This makes me very sad and unprodutive at work or mining.
To get the obvious out of the way: max mining skills, cap stable mackinaw, no out of roid range, cargo not full.

Has anyone else gathered infromation on this tiny gremlin?

Happened today. First time it's happened and the Orange brow was temporarily furrowed as 33 icicles were scooped.

"That's fine", says I. "thirty-three plus these next two is thirty-five -a full cargo ore hold"

The crew roared their approval.

Eventually, after the enornormous excitement (as ice mining goes) of watching a retriever get smacked about by a handful of rat frigates and its pod sitting there floating about without a care in the world, I got

Thirty-four in total.

The crew became petulant.

Sir, you are on to something.

My ice miners are reporting similar anomalies as well.
They mine in a Mack, so every cycle should bring about 2 Ice. But oh every so often, the odd-number Ice in the ore hold pops up.. One even swears she saw her Ore hold increase from 20 to 21(Dual Ice Harvesters running at the same time).
Meaning the Ice Fairy somehow decided she did not deserve that 2nd Ice during the end of that particular cycle.

How peculiar.

I too have seen this and even made a post about it, but people said that it was just the timer not matching up, but I have seen it short me an ice on a cycle before. I usually end up coming back to an odd number of ice in my mackinaw or retriever.

I'd be interested to know/see whether counter cycling your mods (staggering the start times) has any effect. Then you could more clearly see, which, if any, particular mining mod was affected.

It's called BUGS, not ice fairies.

and it's nothing new. Well before the patch and ship alterations, every so often you'd only get 3 blocks in your mackinaw hold instead of the 4.

I was having a simular issue while doing L4 mining missions pre-barge update (about 2 weeks ago).

The issue I was having was that the cycles were running just fine, but for some reason the ice was not showing up in my cargo hold. Once I stopped my ice harvesters I suddenly had 4 cycles of ice show up in my cargo hold.

I then had a similar issue later that day, where no ice was showing up, and 1 ice harvester had stopped. I stopped the 1 harvester that was still running and had 1/2 of my cargo hold suddenly fill up with ice.

I assumed what happened was the ice was basically "stuck" in the ice harvesters, but still counting the cargo hold space each cycle. Once the cycles restarted the cargo hold max volume was reached and the 2nd ice harvester stopped (which happens when there is no space) which then caused the "stuck" ice in the harvester to be lost because there was no cargo hold space for it, when in reality there was.

I never saw that one. This one I've already seen twice. Seems new to me.

I've seen both, though it does seem more frequent since the barge changes.

Ice melts. I suggest you turn down the heat on the ice mining turret.
Also please make sure that you cut the ice blocks into the correct shape.
Incorrectly cut blocks of ice jam the delivery tube.

faires appear across multiple lores even predating the greeks think Valhalla they may have gone by different names like Nymph or Sprite but basically the same thing

most recently San Fransisco has a large community of these creatures
